I'm trying to find a song that I only know by the chorus, which goes....

La la la la la la la la....

Which narrows it does a bit... right?

Ok, to try to communicate the rhythm, it goes:

laaaa la laaaa laaaa laa la-la la

It was probably released in the late sixties to early seventies, it's a really soft chorus, with male voices, I was thinking "Moody Blues" when I Googled it, I didn't find what I wanted, but that's the ball-park for the style of music, it's kind of a bit of a hippy folk song, but not as "pop"y as, say, Blue Oyster Cult, or as rough as, say The Kinks.

Here's an inspired idea... a recording of me trying to sing it!

If you can identify this song, I'd be very grateful, as I don't know another way of tracking it down, thank you.

    Artist: Delfonics Lyrics
Song: La La Means I Love You Lyrics
    [Verse 1:]
Many guys have come to you
With a line that wasn't true
And you passed them by (passed them by)
Now you're in the center ring
And their lines don't mean a thing
Why don't you let me try (let me try)
    Now I don't wear a diamond ring
I don't even have a song to sing
    All I know is
    [Chorus:]
La la la la la la la la la means
    I love you
    [1:] Oh, baby please now
    [2:] Oh... baby

La la la la la la la la la means
    I love you
    [Verse 2:]
If I ever saw a girl
That I needed in this world
You are the one for me (one for me)
Let me hold me in my arms
Girl, and thrill you with my charms
I'm sure you will see (you will see)
The things I am sayin' are true
And the way I explain them to you
    Listen to me
    Instrumental break
    [Partial verse:]
The things I am sayin' are true
And the way I explain them to you, yes to you
    Listen to me
    Coda [repeat to fade:]
La la la la la la la la la means
    I love you
[1:] Oh, you'll have to understand
[2:] Come on and take my hand

Thanks very much for sending that. It isn't the one though. If anybody wants a go, do listen to my (ahem) great vocal recording, because that's the best chance. If it clicks with something you know, then you've got it. The song I mean is less soulful and more folky than the one above.

Hmmm... now I'm no longer sure what it is as I've just listened to Blue Oyster Cult, and then my recording and they're not the same. It's a shame my voice is so flat, but hopefully it will jog someone elses memory.

Hi there, I know this is a bit late but I know for sure now that the tune I was thinking of is A Horse With No Name by Neil Young.

    Could it be:

    LET'S LIVE FOR TODAY
    Grass Roots

"When I think of all the worries people seem to find
And how they're in a hurry to complicate their mind
By chasing after money and dreams that can't come true
I'm glad that we are different, we've better things to do
May others plan their future, I'm busy lovin' you (1-2-3-4)
    Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today
    Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today
And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey, hey, hey
    Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today..."

Default This is a long shot guess, but...

...I would be remiss if this were actually it and didn't respond. My computer would not allow me to play your clip (that you did that is HILARIOUS)...so, the first lala song that came to mind is:
    Artist: James Taylor
Song: Back on the Street Again
    Record: One Man Dog
You can go to Amazon.com and listen to a clip.
There is another lala song in the dark recesses of my mind, so let me know if the above is not correct and I will delve further.

Thank you to everybody who responded to my post. It is utterly shocking to think it was Six years ago! Feels like last year.

The song I was trying to find I have found and it was "Horse With No Name", by America.

If you look on YouTube, you will hear the part in the chorus I was trying to sing/type.

Thank you all so much for trying!
