    Lightbulb Songs from the 80s

A few friends and I have been putting together a list of the best 80's songs. We are not just looking for the "top 40" hits - just great songs all around. We are not ranking them, just trying to put together a list of Must Have songs. So many 80's songs are the sound track to our youth (we are all 30 somethings) - we want to hear them again to bring back the memories. Feel free to share a memory with us from your favorites!! Can't wait to hear from you!!

    thanks

    Thanks, Tahira!

We had a few of your songs on our list already (Duran, Clash, Police) We are going to check out a few of the others we hadn't heard of, but we forgot all about early U2!! New Years Day is "awesome!" A little 80's vocab... lol Thanks again!

Here's a slightly different " angle " in answering your question, although I'm sure you meant by original artist, hope you don't mind.

I'm a David Bowie fan and there are several good, some pop-songs, from 80's sang by him like 'Let's dance', 'China girl', 'Tonight'(with Tina Turner), 'This is not America'(with Pat Metheny-is that his name?), 'Ashes to ashes', 'Loving the alien', to name few.
