Scars
It's become hard to say,
Who I am these days.
But there's only one way,
Outta this hedge maze.
So I'll spin this saw blade,
To make my own escape.
But the holes I've made,
Can't hold their shape.
I am who I am,
Not who you want me to be.
I don't wanna be a sham,
I just wanna be me.
And if you can't relax,
About makin me change,
I'll relay these tracks,
To face a different range.
But who do you think you are?
You think you know what I need?
Well I'd rather have a scar,
Then continue to bleed.
This saw is making a mess,
But it's never been so clear.
And as I make my progress,
My marks on you disappear.
I'm just trying to get out,
I can't handle it anymore.
With all the air in my lungs I shout,
I CAN'T HANDLE IT ANYMORE!
I am who I am,
Not who you want me to be.
I don't wanna be a sham,
I just wanna be me.
And if you can't relax,
About makin me change,
I'll relay these tracks,
To face a different range.
But who do you think you are?
You think you know what I need?
Well I'd rather have a scar,
Then continue to bleed.
Well I'd rather have a scar,
Then continue to bleed.
I can see a glimpse of light,
And it gets brighter as I go.
These holes seem to be getting tight,
Or maybe it's I who grows.
I'm getting to the last hedge,
And the decision is mine.
Do I jump off the edge,
Or do I fall back in line?
Well I'd rather have a scar,
Then continue to bleed.
Well I'd rather have this scar.
I cannot pretend that I felt any regret
Cause each broken heart will eventually mend
As the blood runs red down the needle and thread
Someday you will be loved
