no i have been to zagreb but my friends told me about rijeka and i saw the pics... i have a book about croatian beauties,history, geography,language etc..
and i like rijeka there .i'd really wanna visit...

Make sure you visit the beautiful Island of Cres - it is about 45 minutes by car from rijeka to a ferry and then 15 minutes by ferry to the Island... There are two crossing by ferry to the same island (different sides) one is east of Rijeka and one is West of Rijeka.

I understand - but don't worry your Croatian is very good and it isn't an easy language. Even in our schools many hav eproblems with the grammar (croatian). But these thing come along when you speak fluently and regularly - if you have the ear for the language nothing could be a problem....

Then you listen and repeat the same way.....

- npr. Rekao bih ti ali ću te lagati = is past time meaning (I would tell you but I would probably lied to you).... in English does not implicate past - more like undefinied present....

In Croatian language "rekao" is past tense for to tell (to say), and "bih" implicates a verb not done at all.....

sounds like a possibility in a past I have never done........

aha i understood! it's like Turkish..u know we have lots of comman grammer rules... for example u say ja sam iz hrvatsk'e' u put 'e' but when i try to say it i wanna say hrvatsk'A' because in Tr a must come after hrvat...thats where im confused.....:S

Yes, now that you put it this way it looks very similar.... for example I will write you words in Croatian, Englsih and you put them in Turkish:

Volim Hrvatsku - I love Croatia

Lijepa je Hrvatska - Croatia is beautiful

Cure su iz Hrvatske - Girls from Croatia

Kuca jako moje srce Hrvatsko - My Croatian heart beats strong

HAVE YOU NOTICED THE LAST word changes -sku, -ska, -ske, sko !!!!!

can you give me similar example in Turkish.....

and please one more thing?! .... How do you pronounce certain latters, for example I have noticed you never pronounce i (even though you write it), but then Askim (I do not have the letter in Turkish) is pronounced as A-SH-kim !!!

cosetive - acosetive (this is how you say it in Turkish) ???
In Croatian language we call them PADEŽI:


nominativ • genitiv • dativ • akuzativ • vokativ • lokativ • instrumental

1. Nominativ - Tko? Što? (Who-What) .... example MARKO (male name, person)

2. Genitiv - Od koga? Od čega? (from whom - from what) ..... expl. MARKOV

3. Dativ - Komu? Čemu? (to Whom - to what) ... expl. MARKU

4. Akuzativ - Koga? Što? (Whom or what) ... expl. MARKA

5. Vokativ - Hej? Hoj? (dozivanje) (these are calling extensions) Hej-hoj MARKO

6. Lokativ - o Komu? o Čemu? (about whom and what) ... expl. o MARKU

7. Instrumental (s)kim? (s)čim)? - expl. with whom or what) ... expl. s MARKOM

A bit complicated but you can also have fun with it / for Croatians like to joke they have the 8.th PADEŽ called:
