    idk harmonica but for guitar.
    this is the layout
the little e is your highest pitched string while big E is your lowest
the numbers represent frets, the dashes means you dont play that string at all

the numbers stacked means that you play it at the same time. and the amount of times its repeated (3 times here) is how many times you play it

the x's underneath all of it mean palm mute where the x's are at
    e-------------
    B-------------
    G555--------
    D555-555
    A333-555
    E------333
    xx <---palm mute

on some tabs u might see an x on the string and that means mute it. like in There Is by Boxcar Racer
the guitar in the begining is played like this
ive left out B, and e cuz you dont need them

    G88888888-66666666
    Dxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx
    A66666666-44444444
    Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

to mute the E string i use my thumb and put it over the neck of the guitar. but thats just me.
    thats the basic
theres a lot more notation for it. For transitioning frets without picking your hand up, and bending the string. but you can figure that out as you learn songs that have that in them.
    but yea. hope it helps
