Default Don't nobody see the muddy waters

Trying to track down a song (title, artiste, album?) with a strong environmental message played a fair bit on radio in the late 60s or early 70s' along the lines of

"Don;t nobody see the muddy waters
They're rolling fast and deeper than you think
And they're tearing up the land
    Don;t nobody give a damn
Coz you won't know it till it's time to drink'

Or similar. I had thought it might be Labi Siffre but no sign in his song lists

    Can anybody help. many thanks

Hi farflung I think you'll find it is a song called Muddy Water by Dr. Marigold's Prescription (words and music by Renzetti and Goldberg). that song's been going through my head today and I found it in a back issue of The Record Song Book (June 1971) It's on Youtube if you put Dr. Marigolds Prescription in too. Only taken you 11 years to find out!! All the best!
