Yes, I know what you mean.

Kind of like ... Greek, isn't it? Translating songs is not so difficult when it comes to easy words, but if you ask me to use the very same words into phrases of my own.... it takes some time till I figure them out. Not to mention at least one mistake per sentence

    I C-O-M-P-L-E-T-E-L-Y agree!!!!

But nevertheless I'm confident that one day we'll be able to make sentences without any mistake in it (easy sentences, of course)... but it's a long way there

Am incercat sa traduc versurile cu google translate dar e varza.....
..cred ca tot cineva care stie greceste ar trebui sa ne traduca.
    What a mess........

    To go

    To go
    In what have not choras
    After what we prefer antecheis
In that easily elegcheis to go

    To go
    There things simple
    Known, and ordinary young
    Were not need many

    But you decide
    When bores will beat
    Difficult times when 'yes
    When you stand up mountains
    Do with sygkrineis
    Where others stop
    Where does not tolmane
    And left behind far

    To go
    In the quiet fraud ektimas
In the brief from which tolmas
    In easy love asking

    But you decide
    When bores will beat
    Difficult times when 'yes
    When you stand up mountains
    Yes, you decide
    when it burns your soul
    sterefei power when you
    and will not find hug
    Do with sygkrineis
    when we played your life
when foreigners will be your own
    small and you nowhere

I really hope someone will translate this song.

I don't seem to figure it out. I don't know why, because the words are not difficult. But it's something about the sentence topic that makes this translation difficult for me

That's what I managed to correct, but I must say that some of the lyrics are strange...

To go -> You could just simply translate it as Go

    To go
You don’t fit in what you have - strange sentence
Since you prefer what you can take
Go to the easy things that you can control

    To go
    There to the simple things
    Known, ordinary and small
    There were not need much

    But you judge me
    When storms will beat
Difficult times when there will be
    When the mountains will arise
    Compare me
    There were the others stop
    That they don’t dare more
And they stay behind far away

    To go
To the quiet fraud that you appreciate
To the little from this something that you dare (to do)
To the easy love that you ask for

    But you judge me
    When storms will beat
Difficult times when there will be
    When the mountains will arise
    Yes, judge me
when your soul will be in danger - free translation
    when you power dries up
and you will not find hug
    Compare me
when your soul will be in danger
when your familiars will become strangers
and you, little one, (you’ll be) in nowhere - I didn’t get that!

    Maria mou, euxaristw polu!!!

And the last verse doesn't make sense because actually he says: στο πουθενά !! I just listened to the song because that last verse was a hard rock for me as well !

You don’t fit in what you have - strange sentence
I guess he means: you don't find your place in all that you have/ what you have is not enough/suited for you

Oh, I forgot something: the infinitive that appears in the translation is easy to understand for those who know Romanian:
    Να πας--să mergi
Μα να με κρίνεις--dar să mă judeci
    Να με συγκρίνεις--să mă compari

This song is kind of untranslatable, I would say...
Maria, you were faster than me... but just to compare I post my attempt to translate the chorus... I hope you don't mind

Actually I think this song is more likely to be "interpreted" than "translated"...

    So here's what I did:

    Μα να με κρίνεις
    But judge me
    Όταν οι μπόρες θα χτυπάνε
    When thunderstorms will hit you
    Δύσκολες ώρες όταν θα 'ναι
    When there are difficult times
    Όταν σηκώνονται βουνά
    When mountains arise
    Να με συγκρίνεις
    Compare me
    Εκεί που οι άλλοι σταματάνε
    There where the others stop
    Που παραπάνω δεν τολμάνε
    Where they don't risk more
    Και μένουν πίσω μακριά
    And (they) stay far behind
    Να πας
    Go

What about this sentence? (You forgot it in the post above):
    Να με συγκρίνεις
    Judge me
όταν θα παίζεται η ζωή σου
??? Does it by chance mean something like "when my life will play tricks on me" (but I'm just guessing)????

    I would say it's more like :

when your life will play be played meaning will be at stake meaning what Maria translated as :when your soul will be in danger

And to answer your rethrical question: "To whom??"... To you!!! cause you understand Romanian!

Let's say I try to do so! Explaining Greek by Romanian is a nice way to make me forget respectively mix up everything I know - I'm afraid when I wake up tomorrow I won't be able to speak German

    You're awesome!!!! Ich bin beeindruckt!
But I think that German is very hard to learn - at least everybody who learns it claims this! If you want to know something just ask me.... but be aware, I might have forgotten it.

Yes, even people who haven't managed to learn it will say the same!!!

I will ask you, and in case you forgot it, try explaining it in Romanian via Greek!!

Perfect solution! I'm looking forward to this conversation!
Btw, I'm just trying to communicate in Turkish - compared with this (all I know is one, two, thanks, welcome, hello, I'm fine, I love you) everything else is sooo easy....

Oh, I practised, no worries! I'm still trying to untangle my tongue from trying to pronounce beeindrucken- beeindruckt !!

Turkish?! (I feel the need to notice what interesting combination of words and expressions you know in Turkish!!)

Turkish is too much of a challenge for me. As far as I know the grammar rules are nowhere close to anything I may consider familiar... So ...not much hope in that direction

Of course I don't mind... Besides I have to admit your translation is excellent!

I'm afraid that it's not correct, it means 'when you would be in danger' or something like that. Unfortunately I can't find the appropriate translation for this. Maybe Zvezda can help cause she knows english perfectly, I don't...

No mercy for you ... imagine me pronoucing ă, î and â!

Yes, I know that it's an interesting combination.... just words I've heard once and managed to remember... and I just realise that I know some parts of Mustafa Sandal's lyrics. At the moment I'm not trying to learn Turkish - it would even enhance the confusion!!!!!!!

And maybe we should continue our discussion via personal messaging, because this has already gone off topic and I don't want the moderators to get angry with us
