    Zdravo devojce!
yeah I was hoping you would translate Zajdi zajdi then i found a youtube video with translation but even I would translate it differently ...

Problem is - I actually can't figure out what she says after "begaj udavi se"
I literally listened to that song 33 times yesterday - it is defo my song lol and I love this version YouTube - Vasilisa: Zajdi, Zajdi
[the video is a bit too morbid but the music is cool]

    Zdravo!!!

I'm really glad U all are interested in Macedonian music, specially in the old folk songs which are unique

I checked the link with "Zajdi, zajdi" but I must tell U that this isn't the original one. Probably is some versification made from some Bulgarian artist, because the master copy has Macedonian roots and it is sung by one of the most famous folk (deceased) singers- Aleksandar Sarievski
And I'm sure U will love this original track more than the other one U sent me
    U can find it here...
YouTube - Zajdi, zajdi jasno sonce

And U will also enjoy the video, because it is full with lovely images of my country-specially sunsets...
Just in case I sent U also the lyrics with the translation..because as U said the one U have it's not fully correct..As a Macedonian I checked it and I totally agree...Here it goes..Hope U will like it more.....

    Zajdi ,zajdi jasno sonce,
    Zajdi pomrachi se,
    I ti jasna le ,mesechino,
    Begaj udavi se.

    Crnej goro ,crnej sestro,
    Dvajca da crnejme,
Ti za tvojte lisja le ,goro,
    Jas za mojta mladost.

    Tvojte lisja,goro sestro,
Pak ke ti se vratat ,
    Mojta mladost goro le ,sestro,
    Nema da se vrati.

Set down, set down bright sun,
    Set down, blackout
    And you clear moonlight too
    Run away, drown yourself

    Sorrow- forest, sorrow- my sister,
    Let us sorrow together
    You- for your leaves, forest
    Me- for my youth.

Your leaves, forest - my sister,
Are going to get back to you
My youth, forest - my sister,
    It's not coming back.

U r so right..Jovano, Jovanke is wonderful song too..Not so strange U get creeps of it...hehe...who doesn't and true- not everyone can make these songs so powerful as they are, except the original artists...hehehe

For all lovers of the folk Macedonian music, here is one of the songs which I like

Don't know if some of U have heard it, it is also a dance over here

Here it is the link with the lyrics..Whoever likes may check it..and press play to listen to it

Macedonian Folk Songs :: Македонски народни песни

And I tried to translate it, though it is bit funny maybe and hard sometimes to translate such songs..because the beauty vanishes, but I did free interpretation so that U can understand what it is about Hope U will like it...

Come out on the window dear mother
so to see who passed, I died for him(got crazy about him)

    Osman bey passed, dear mother
Osman bey passed I died for him
Where he goes the wind blows, I died for him
where he sits the sun is shining, I died for him

I will get hellenized, I will get islamized dear mother
I will get hellenized, I will get islamized, I died for him
I will take Osman bey, I died for him

He will take me in Ohrid dear mother
he will take me in Ohrid, I died for him
he will take me for a walk with the boat along the lake
