Default Anila Mimani - Vajza e mamit

First of all, the pattern is clear now: people consult the list of Albanian songs more than the one with Portuguese songs. Depending on your point of view that means that fewer people are interested in Portuguese, or, on the other hand, that nobody understands Albanian.

Now about Anila Mimani. Some time ago her song 'E ta dishë ...' was translated. I was very much pleased to learn I had it almost right. The following lines still pose some problems:

Dua të ndjej buzët e tua
...I want to sense your lips
Fjalët që vetëm ti mi thua.
...those words that only you say to me

At teksteshqip they begin 'Dua ti ...'. I was puzzled by the 'ti', but I guess that's a mistake? Also the second line seems unconnected with the first. Is there something I miss?

And by the way, how should I pronounce her name? Emphasis on the first syllable (Mi'mani), or on the second (Mima'ni)? And A'nila or Ani'la?

As you probably guessed, I'm quite fond of Anila Mimani's music. So you would oblige me by translating this superb song of hers:

Anila Mimani - Vajza e mamit (Mothers girl??)

    Shkon e vjen indiferent
me syte e fshehur mbrapa xhamit
Cdo shikim e shef ti shtrenjte
kur kalojme rruges balle per balle
nga inati me therret, me quan ti
    vajza e mamit
po me le te digjem krejt
ne zemer me ke ndezur zjarr

    (refreni)(2x)
    Se ti gjithmone me quan,
    vajza e mamit
    hiqi nje cast ti syzet,
    mbrapa xhamit
    mos i fshi syte embel,
    nuk eshte enderr
ta dish se naten per ty qaj

Nese te dua nuk kam faj

    Sikur akull je i ftohte
keshtu djale te ka dale nami
    shkon e vjen indiferent
mos ma mundo zemren e vrare
nga inati me therret, me quan ti
    vajza e mamit
po me le te digjem krejt
ne zemer me ke ndezur zjarr

    (refreni)(2x)
    Se ti gjithmone me quan,
    vajza e mamit
    hiqi nje cast ti syzet,
    mbrapa xhamit
    mos i fshi syte embel,
    nuk eshte enderr
ta dish se naten per ty qaj

Nese te dua nuk kam faj

    (refreni)(2x)
    Se ti gjithmone me quan,
    vajza e mamit
    hiqi nje cast ti syzet,
    mbrapa xhamit
    mos i fshi syte embel,

Nese te dua nuk kam faj

This is probably actually the correct lyrics "Dua ti ndjej buzet e tua" which means i want to feel your lips. Really these terms te and ti te meaning your/s and ti meaning his.

And by the way, how should I pronounce her name? Emphasis on the first syllable (Mi'mani), or on the second (Mima'ni)? And A'nila or Ani'la?

    a-nila, mi-mani

Anila Mimani - Vajza e mamit (Mothers girl??)
Mother's daughter ex. "mommy's little girl" same sense practically

    Shkon e vjen indiferent
    she comes and goes indifferently
me syte e fshehur mbrapa xhamit
with her eyes hidden behind the glass
Cdo shikim e shef ti shtrenjte
you value each and every looks (she gives you) (lit. each look is expensive)
kur kalojme rruges balle per balle
when we pass each other on the street, head to head
nga inati me therret, me quan ti
from your anger you yell, you call me (quan ti: as in call my name, not yell which is therras or bertet) (emrin e kam: my name is... or you can say: me quajn: they call me...)
    vajza e mamit
    mommy's girl
po me le te digjem krejt
but you let me burn entirely
ne zemer me ke ndezur zjarr
you have lit a fire in my heart

    (refreni)(2x)
    Se ti gjithmone me quan,
    'cuz you always call me
    vajza e mamit
    mommy's girl
    hiqi nje cast ti syzet,
take off your glasses for a second
    mbrapa xhamit
    behind the glass
    mos i fshi syte embel,
    don't hide your sweet eyes
    nuk eshte enderr
    this is not a dream
ta dish se naten per ty qaj
you should know that i cry for you at night
Nese te dua nuk kam faj
if i love you, it is not my fault

    Sikur akull je i ftohte
it is as if you are cold ice
keshtu djale te ka dale nami
like this, you growl as a boy
    shkon e vjen indiferent
    you come and go indifferent
mos ma mundo zemren e vrare
don't make my dead heart struggle

This is practically the same song, except some of the lyrics are different, many Albanian singers take popular songs and change some of the text usually if they are performing the song live or doing a cover of the song. Here are the lyrics and translation : )

    I vetmuar jam ne halle
i am alone in my misery
    Se dashnoren ma kan mare
'cuz they have taken my girlfriend/lover
Ne zemren time kam nje zjarr
there is a fire in my heart

    Zotit i lutem, trego'm rrugen
I pray to God, tell me the road (i should take)
    fati dhimb kur te kerkoj
my fate hurts when i search for you
    rri mbjellur ne mendime
i stay planted in my thoughts
    Pa dashnoren time
    without my girlfriend

Rruget e mia i kam humbur
    i have lost my paths
    ty z'dote harroj kur
    i will never forget you

    Balkaneuro...u r person made of gold.BIg kiss.
In fact.last night i asked 3 of my colegues for that that fati i zi.They told me.-every singer has fati i zi,but they all sings about lost love ))When u see fati i zi u must know that is the same fati i zi.
But this Mentori...he sounds to me very different. From all that he sings i understand only "vetmuar","zoti lutem" and "zemren time"
That is why i suggest that is different song.
Thank u a lot for translating that one!

Thank you, Balkaneuro. Nice song, nice lyrics. Could it be that the first verses too speak about the boy in stead of the girl, ie:

    HE comes and goes indifferently
with HIS eyes hidden behind glass (sunglasses being meant, I guess)
    etc.

Then the whole story would make sense to me: boy and girl pass each other, boy makes fun of the girl, but she is in love with him and hopes he likes her too.

I figured that this song was about a mother daughter relationship and their struggle to get along with each other sometimes. However now that you point your theory out it may be correct however there is no masculine or feminine verbs or pronouns that will help me prove this but most likely you are correct, good job : )

ta degjoj ta degjoj nga tyy, se mezi mer fryme
sdua une ta them pergjigjen ta kem

    Soni - Zig zag

Dal vet, sdal vet me ty nuk dal vet
I go out alone, i don't go out alone, i don't go out with you alone
ndalu ndalem cfare ka ky djale them
you pause, i pause whats up with this guy i say (to myself)
ta degjoj ta degjoj nga tyy, se mezi mer fryme
to hear, to hear it from you, 'cuz you can hardly breathe
sdua une ta them pergjigjen ta kem
i don't want to say it, if i have the answer
mua m'pelqen cfare ke nuk ta them
i like you, whatever your problem is i won't tell
pres me shume nga ty por ti mezi mer fryme
i'm waiting for more from you but you are hardly breathing (mezi mer frym: your slow or somethings bothering you)

ca paska nje fjale ska, ne zig zag jemi te dy
what is their, there isn't a word, were both zig zag (all over the place)
ca paska nje fjale ska, ne zig zag jemi te dy

se di ca paske se di pse fjale ske
i don't know what is up with you (lit. ca paske means what you have) I don't know why you don't say a word
pse kaq me turp je, tani qe ne zig zag ne jemi te dy
why are you so shy now that were both in a zig zag situation
    hallaktesh sorollatesh me kot
u toss and turn for nothing
mundohesh te mer fryme por nuk mer fryme dot
you struggle to catch your breath, but you can't find any air to breath
    fyyyy so se ke esell
    breath for this
    lere fare shifemi neser
leave it all, we'll see eachother tomorrow
ti ngacmon ti prape tenton ti prape ndalon
you bug me, you try but then you pause (give up)
prape ngatron prape njofton pse me vone ti cfare kujton se jam STOP
again you make things complicated, again you announce things but why is it that later you remember what to say to me, becuase i am stop? (maybe this part is incorrect)
mbaj frymen merr fryme dy here mbaj frymen
hold your breath, take a breath twice, and hold your breath
mos u lodh kot te harxhosh frymen
don't waste your energy for nothing, you'll waste your breath
behu pak i zgjuar cun i dashuruar
wake up boy that i love/like

Thank you, Balkaneuro. I'm always surprised that these lyrics tell a whole story. This one is very complicated. I couldn't even guess what it was about, far from deciphering details. I think Soni is super!
