    Default Macchia Valfortore

Please translate this Italian village song into English.

    Questo club paesano
    Che di Macchia Valfortore.

    Su svegliamoci dil sonno
    Che da Tempo ci perduro.

    Soi per essere dichiarati
    Macchiaioli ben venuti.

    Tutti Macchia noi lasciammo
    per questra terra di bonta.

    E noi siamo Macchiaioli
    siam venuti da lontoni.

    E noi tutti ci uniamo
    per godere la liberta.

    Grazie!

Well it's kind of a dialect or just old Italian, this is my try:

    This village club
    It's from Macchia Valfortore.

Let's wake up from our sleep
That lasted for some time now.

    In order to be named
    Welcomed Macchiaioli.

    We all leave Macchia
    for this land of goodness.

    And we are Macchiaioli
    we've come from far away.

    And we all come together
    to enjoy freedom.

    You're welcome!
Macchia Valfortore it's a region in Campobasso, Italy, so the word "macchiaioli" means inhabitants of Macchia.

I am interested in seeking a pen pal from Macchia Valfortore who can speak both English and Italian. I am writing a life story of my family. My grandparents originated from there. Some have immigrated but I am sure many extended family still reside in that region. I am anxious to retrieve information such as birth, death, and marriage records, et. etc. etc. Hopefully, a trip to Italy will provide missing information. In the meantime, I will continue searching for information. Thanks for listening!

You're welcome and good luck! As for Italy, for me, it's the most beautiful place on Earth.
