Default Solved: identify a 90s dance song

Ive been looking for this song since i was about 14 or 15 years old, so almost for 10 years now. I used to hear it on the radio in California (in the San Diego/L.A. area). it was an early 90s "black" dance song (not trying to be racist), similar to "everybody dance now" and the like. there were a lot of those songs back then, so im guessing its from the early 90s, i heard the song in 95/96 the most. all i can describe of it is there was a female black singer, she sang some lyrics, then a black dude sings fast semi-rap like, again similar to a lot of those 90s dance songs. then there is a part where techno dance beat kicks in by itself which is amazing. then it repeats again with the woman singing, then the guy, and the techno part again. the techno sounds very similar to the main techno beat in "jellyhead" by Crush. I dont really expect to find this song without having the ability to time travel and go back and listen to the lyrics, mainly because its so obscure and no one has that kind of music anymore, let alone remembers specific song names. but i can hope.

You mentioned the techno sounded very similar to the main techno beat in "jellyhead" by Crush...

...could it be "Insomnia" by Faithless? (mainly the part at 2 min. and 18 seconds)

of not then try "What is Love" by Haddaway.

    Here's two other suggestions

    Snap: Rhythm is a Dancer

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=C9c5otT-RUA

    &

    Dr Alban: It's my Life

Mulder: Whatever tape you found in that VCR, it isn't mine.

Scully: Good. Because I put it back in that drawer with all those other videos that aren't yours.

Good Vibrations? hahah I don't know sorry. But yeah I thouht you were talking about "Rythym is a Dancer" and that always makes me think of the band The Real McCoy (I think that's the band...that sings: Run Away, and Another Night) but I'm pretty positive the people are white in that band (the rapping is pretty horrible but if you like 90's pop it's fun to listen to.)

thanks for posting those links guys, i was clicking on related videos to those kind of dance songs and finally after 2 or 3 hours of listening to random mid 90s dance songs i found the song i had long been looking for. its Close To You by Fun Factory. here is the video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnGez...eature=related

I had no idea who sang it or the songs name when i heard it back then, but its that techno beat which is played a few times by itself in the song which i remember to this day. also the girl has a nice voice now that i hear it again and she is ****ing HOT as well i might add

Also those songs like Dr. Alban and Culture Beat, Real McCoy are all nice too and similar type of music. thanks for all that, i will be downloading their cds soon hehe.

Thank you for letting us know.

The woman is hot indeed, but don't count on her singing skills.
She is only put there to look good. The real singing was done by Balja, and Anett just moved her lips (and hips) on videos...

    Another "Milli Vanilli Incident"
