Question SOLVED: almost impossible to find

    Hi,
I have the "almost first line" of a song in my head and I thought it was titled Elephant walk but it's not or at least it's not the songs I've found titled Elephant Walk. The first line is something like this:
Oh the night was lovely and serene.
I'm not sure about the "lovely". It was a pop song probably from the 60s.
If you know it could you please let me know
    Thanks,
    Diane

    Default Is this it?

"ELEPHANT WALK" by: Donald Jenkins & The Delighters

    BONG
    (Spoken):
When your stomach speaks, you forget your mind
When your mind speaks, you forget your heart
But when your heart speaks, you forget everything

Oh, the night was splendid and serene <-----------------------------
Yes, when a native girl wiggled right into my dreams
She did a little dance, it seemed so oppulent
Ummm and I lost my heart in darkest Africa
She did a dance, it brought romance
    The Elephant Walk

And whoa, whoa, those swayin' hips
They put me in a trance
Ummm and all at once I begin to dance
The feeling is paradise, I know
For an American boy from the south side of Chicago

    Elephant Walk
    (Jungle sounds)
    Lord, Lord, Lordy Lord, Lord
Crazy memories, Lord, Lord, Lordy Lord
If they knew what I knew
    There wouldn't be no wars
There'd only be time for a little girl and boy
    Crazy melodies, always haunting me
    Crazy melodies, always haunting me
    [Fade]

    Smile Almost impossible to find

I imagine that this is the song. This must be it and the other song I've found just had the same title. Thank you so very much. I'm going to try to find it and buy it. I've been looking a long time.
