    Chorus went.......

    Can't stop the rain
    No Rain
    (No Rain)
    No Rain

Pretty sure it was a female singer.

This is not the Blind Melon tune.

Driving me nuts for 5 years now....Thanks

    No........But that's a great song.

    Thanks for trying.

The one I'm looking for was female , slow, haunting, reminds me of something Edie Brickell might do.

The Blind Melon song doesn't have those lyrics

    it has these lyrics

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin' the puddles gather rain

And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
But it's not sane, It's not sane

I just want someone to say to me oh, oh, oh, oh
I'll always be there when you wake yea, yea
Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, hey
So stay with me and I'll have it made

And I don't understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that there's no rain

And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape
    escape......escape......escape......

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
ya don't like my point of view
    ya think I'm insane
    Its not sane......it's not sane.

I just want someone to say to me oh, oh, oh, oh
I'll always be there when you wake yea, yea
Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, hey
So stay with me and I'll have it made

    (I'll have it made
    I'll have it made
You know we're really gonna, really gonna have it made
    Gonna have it made
    ahhh,ahhh, ahhh, ahhh)

Normally I don't just join a site out of the blue, but I HAD to reply to this thread. I believe the song in question is "Sun Don't Rain" by Laurnea. You can hear the song in the following link.

I've been looking for this song for ages and I'm sure the OP has been doing the same. I hope this solves everything and helps other 90's music lovers in the future!!!

    Thanks Mike.....

I found it a few months ago while doing some Karaoke....Totally by accident.

It's a section from the beginning of the song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".
About 45 seconds into the song.

From 1970...I was way off on the date....

Thus, my last big music mystery solved.

    Here are the actual lyrics........

No wind, (No wind) no rain, (no rain)
    Nor winter's cold
Can stop me, babe (oh, babe) baby (baby)
    If you're my goal

    No wind, no rain,
    Can stop me, babe
    If you wanna go

    Thanks for letting us know.
I had totally forgotten that Diana Ross' version had the line:

"No wind, (no wind) no rain, (no rain)"
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title
