Yasou!
There is a thread here,on this forum, called About greek grammar. You can start reading those things. I also bought some greek courses (books) and I found some sites. When I go back home (I'm at work now ) I will post the addresses. Good luck!
Go live in Greece.
Oh,yeah!!! This is the best solution!!!!! Who doesn't want this?! I DOOOOOO!
Stellstell,
The fastest way of learning Greek is to communicate in that language, so if it is at all possible for you, find a summer (seasonal) job in Greece and go stay there for some period.. When you are employed there (even if it is only for a short period) you can make a lot of Greek friends, and will be making an effort to speak to them in Greek Also there are free language classes offered to everyone who are legally employed in Greece (which includes au-pairs, as the work they do counts as employment under the European Directive)
I dont know if you come from an English speaking country, but native ENglish speakers are greatly needed by some families to help with childcare during their summer vacation in Greece (as some Greek families who live in Australia, Britain or America have kids who can best communicate in English, like my own daughter :S)
To look for jobs in Athens check out ->http://www.athensnews.gr/dolma/dol_ma.maclads?kathg=006
and http://www.hri.org/news/misc/jobs/ and http://www.newaupair.com/browse_fami...Greece%20&pg=0
Here you can find short term employment opportunities, where the employers do not require any knowledge of Greek language (though, they will require other personal qualities, which i m sure you have)
Lastly if you can not do that, then look for the 'teach-yourself-Greek' course by Aristarhos Matsukas. He is one of the best and his course truely works. Check out this site ->http://www.amazon.ca/s?ie=UTF8&rh=n%...atsukas&page=1
Also to find people who would like to swab language skills, meaning they are willing to teach you their language in return for you, teaching your language to them.. go to ->http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/
i wish you best of luck...

Haha I didnt know your age and location... Well.. it is great that you are from Australia. You dont need to go to Greece, just go to Sydney and some areas there are almost like Greece (populated by Greeks haha :P)
Check out http://www.greekcity.com.au/ (This is a website for Greeks in Australia, you can check out Greek events and perhaps go to a few greek concerts/parties etc. in Au [Like Giorgos Tsalikis and Maro Litra will be there soon], if you go and see them you might also make friends who can help you practice your Greek
P.S. I m sure you ll also have lots of fun because Tsalikis never fails to entertain... I love him...

After reading all the post i came up with some ideas.
I know it's too dificult to exercise greek in australia every day but...
1st You may see some greek movies (dont push yourself to understand EVERY word, just watch the movie and have fun)
2nd You may even save time by reading greek comics in pdf format (there are some splendid works by arkas)
3rd You may listen greek songs without trying to understand EVERY word, just listen and have fun
4rth But not least... try to find a good greek dictionary. Not a greek to english one but a greek to greek one. Don't get frightened by the size of the dictionary, the bigger the better.
I can say that if you try it no more than 3 months you will be able to communicate with Hellines.
Don't forget that we encourage people trying to learn something that we've already learned and know that's difficult...
Remember that Language is a medium for peoples' communication.
Remember that you don't have to own a diploma so that the other can understand you
And Remember to do it for fun
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
This is what I'm using and it's very well structured:

You may encounter problems with the listening files on that site, but they uploaded them here in a better sound quality:
http://www.cybc.com.cy/radio/learn_greek.html
Register on the first site, then open the scripts and listen to the audio at the same time. And DO pronounce the words/phrases when they ask for it, even if it seems weird to talk by yourself
