Hey, Emilia, welcome to our forum.

Now... There is no such song as "Topira nopasi", there are no such words in Greek. It could be "to pira apofasi" for instance. Which leads me to the thought you're actually talking about a song by Prodromos, that's called "De me rihnis tora pia".

I'll quote the first stanza and you'll tell if my guess is right. So...

Me dakrismena matia mou zitas signomi
Metanioses, mou les pos m'agapas akomi
Ma tora pia se ematha kala, lipame
Ta panda apo sena akomi me ponane

    Dear Panselinos,
Whoever u r, I already love u, yes that is the song, the problem is I don t speak Greek and I cant know if what I get is correct, but who gave me the song said it is Topira nomasi sung by Alkaios. It is so good u r so smart t actually identify the song!I would love so much to learn Greek, but in my country such teachers are rare and I m not sure I can make it by my own.I love the sound of it, anyway!I m so lucky u people speak English!
So, if this is the song, u can give me the lyrics, right?
Thank u very much for your so quick answer!

    Hello all!

I don't speak Greek, but I hope you don't mind, if i throw here one more option.

I found a song pronounced like this, but as I don't want to break any rules, then I made 30 second sample from it, and it has that "to pira no fasi" lyrics in it (again, excuse me for my awful pronouncing, but I don't speak Greek)

    Is that your song, emyiakab?

Dear Emilia, I'm glad I was able to help.

Nah, it has nothing to do with my mental potention. Just like lillipop, I found a song named "Topira nopasi" on a Romanian site. It came out to be "De me rihnis" by Prodromos. That's the secret.

    Anyway, here's the lyrics:

    De me rihnis
    Prodromos

Me dakrismena matia mou zitas signomi
Metanioses, mou les pos m'agapas akomi
Ma tora pia se ematha kala, lipame
Ta panda apo sena akomi me ponane

Na, na, na, na, to pira apofasi
Na, na, na, na, min psahnis profasi

    De me rihnis tora pia
    S'agapao men alla
An giriso, tha pethano akomi mia fora
    De me rihnis tora pia
    I diki sou angalia
Den kratai parapano apo mia vradia

Me nazia prospathis ke pali na me riksis
Pos ola tha allaksoun thelis na me pisis
Ma tora pia se ematha kala, lipame
Ta panda apo sena akomi me ponane

Na, na, na, na, to pira apofasi
Na, na, na, na, min psahnis profasi

    De me rihnis tora pia
    S'agapao men alla
An giriso, tha pethano akomi mia fora
    De me rihnis tora pia
    I diki sou angalia
Den kratai parapano apo mia vradia

And here's the translation of the song, made by our lovely Maria:

Ouch! I'm sorry, I didn't even understand at first, that panselinos found your song already! Silly me, I should of read more closely the posts before me.

But it is a very nice song, I played it already 10 times or so. Very nice song!

    Hey Lilipop,
Don t worry, thank u anyway for finding the song, I m glad u like it, I ve loved Greek music since I was little, I am so sorry I couldn t learn the language, I am also fascinated by their culture, I always say about them they come from Plato s country. I have tried to find things about troudadour s literature, but I m not that good with the internet surfing, what I found was a stupid poor definition.
I d also like to visit the country, at least Athens, maybe I ll make it this summer.

s'agapao - I love you (shortened of "se agapao"; could be shortened even more to "s'agapo")
    lipame - sorry
    akomi - yet, still
    pali - again, anew
dakrismena - tearful (plural, as in "tearful eyes")
metanioses - you regretted (past tense, 2nd person singular of the verb metaniono - to regret)

Hmm.. By "pes nou" you mean "pes mou"?

As for the langauge help, check out the thread Maria has opened here: http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/gr...k-grammar.html
    I believe it's very helpful.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
