Red face Ta paliomisoforia translation please:)

    Hi
these types of songs like rembetika and certain hasapika use very distinct language that cannot be translated even in ordinary Greek. These words and their menanings don't exist in any language. These songs sound awful if translated. Ayway, I did a free translation just for you to have an idea, although it really looks bad in English
    Hugs

    A night at Kastella
    in a beautiful girl
that she was taking her drink
a witted(free translation-this word is untransletable) man made a pass
    who was from Kokkinia

    He didn't know though
that she was involved with a man from Pireus
A Pireus strong man ( free translation again )
    iron in the hand
    ace with the fist

    Ah dirtycotas
    what men suffer for you

    But the amn from Konninia
was a first grade brave one
    and at the end both
    ended up
    at the hospital

    Both in aphasia
    but she gave no notice
that they were eaten by (marmaga- its a dangerous spider poison- meaning pain here)
and with another raskal (street wise) started an affair(free translation)

    Amethystos and/or Duffy

Can you improve on the translation provided by mnisareti? Or is his translation "as good as it's going to get", given the difficulty of translating the song?

    I can't do better.
