Neye yaklaşsam, sonu uzaklık ve kırgınlık
Anla ki, yok Allah'tan başkasıyla yakınlık

whatever i get closer, in the end is distance and heartbreak
so understand that there's no closeness with anyone other than god

if you don't take it as "hariçten gazel okumak=to recite odes from the outside(*)," these lines on their own don't explicitly indicate an intention to break up, especially if he has some mystical tendencies (as necip fazıl had), for they are known for their erratic behaviors now and then. you might consider a further inquiry before making a final decision if you cherish your relationship very much.

yes, turkish is said to be very difficult indeed for english speaking people; but it's also so difficult for many native speakers that they fail to speak or write it correctly. the good side is that we use the latin alphabet and it's phonemic: we read as we write (but not always we write as we speak).

the pronunciation of turkish is fairly regular, but you have to hear it. i'd like to read some texts for you, on msn for example, but i speak rather fast, and according to the educational psychology professor(*), my pronunciation sucks! i don't have msn installed on my pc either.

if there is someone with good diction in the forum who can help, it would be better.
