Νίκος Βέρτης - Αν με θες όπως σε θέλω
Nikos Vertis - An me thes opos se thelo
Nikos Vertis – If you want me like I want you

Αν με θες όπως σε θέλω
An me thes opos se thelo
If you want me like I want you
αν με αγαπάς όπως σ' αγαπώ
    An me agapas opos s'agapo
If you love me like I love you
    παραδίνομαι σε σένα
    Paradinomai se sena
    I devote myself to you
κι όπου εσύ με πας εγώ ακολουθώ
Ki opou esi me pas ego akoloutho
And wherever you take me, I follow
    Περασμένα ξεχασμένα
    Perasmena xehasmena
    Bygone, forgotten
μη μ' αφήνεις μόνο μου μισό
    Mi m'afineis mono mou miso
    Don’t leave me alone, incomplete
Αν με θες όπως σε θέλω
An me thes opos se thelo
If you want me like I want you
    έλα και θα πιάσουμε ουρανό
    Ela kai tha piasoume ourano
Come and we will touch the sky

    Έλα, έλα, έλα χαρά μου
    Ela, ela, ela chara mou
    Come, come, come, my joy
    έλα, έλα στην αγκαλιά μου
    Ela, ela stin agkalia mou
    Come, come in my arms
άκου για λίγο την καρδιά μου
Akou gia ligo tin kardia mou
Listen for a while to my heart
    πως χτυπάει για σένα μόνο
    Pos htipaei gia sena mono
Which is beating only for you

Αν με θες όπως σε θέλω
An me thes opos se thelo
If you want me like I want you
αν με αγαπάς όπως σ' αγαπώ
    An me agapas opos s'agapo
If you love me like I love you
    πόσο σ' αγαπώ
    Poso s'agapo
    How much I love you

Αν με θες όπως σε θέλω
An me thes opos se thelo
If you want me like I want you
αν με αγαπάς όπως σ' αγαπώ
    An me agapas opos s'agapo
If you need me like I need you
Τι να κάνω τι ζωή μου
Ti na kano ti zoi mou
What should I do with my life
μακριά σου δεν αντέχω ούτε λεπτό
Makria sou den anteho oute lepto
Away from you I can’t stand even for a minute
Αν δεν είσαι εσύ μαζί μου
An den eisai esi mazi mou
    If you’re not with me
    καραβάκι μοιάζω σε καιρό
    Karavaki moiazo se kairo
I’m like a little ship in bad weather
Αν με θες όπως σε θέλω
An me thes opos se thelo
If you want me like I want you
    γύρνα πίσω σε παρακαλώ
    Girna piso se parakalo
    Come back, I’m begging you

Yes, I'm sure I've never studied Greek in a course or something... but I've been to Greece sooo often and so I know some basic words and phrases. I'm trying to study also the basic grammar and as I love Greek music I wanted to know what the songs are about... so I started looking for translations, then trying to translate some lyrics myself... now I'm able to translate easy lyrics But if it comes to difficult sentences it's hard to catch their meaning....

    (Du sprichst deutsch? )

Well done Xtapodi! It's great to see that people do try to acquaint themselves with a language that is so unimportant nowadays. Many "greeks" abroad should take lessons from you :-)

Thanks again I wouldn't say that Greek is an unimportant language - for me it's not! I'm really keen on learning this beautiful language and I'm happy every time I succeed in understanding a conversation or the lyrics of the songs I'm listening to. I bought some CDs in Greece a few years ago and didn't even understand one word of the songs... if I listen to them now I understand them a bit better... so I'm motivated to continue studying Greek

Greek lessons from me?? Good idea - I'm gonna think about it actually...

Danke fürs Kompliment. Ich glaube dass man in Nordwestdeutschland oft "macht nichts" statt "gern geschehen" sagt. Colloquial german :-)
