I don't plan on writing accompaniment to this on the piano or anything... I just want to hear what people have to say. I have a melody to it, but I'll probably just keep it as a poem, unless it's really liked.

Other Side of Broken Glass
Can you see through the two way mirror?
Can you pick out the truth from the lie?
Can you listen but not hear the music?
Can you smile through the tears when you cry?
Does the world swallow up your ambition?
Can you spread your wings open and fly?
Do you sleep with one eye kept wide open?
Do you laugh when you're dying inside?
[Chorus]
On the other side of broken glass
Is a life you'd never understand
Where the barrier is held up strong
Just so I can't reach your hand.
On the other side of broken glass
Is a flame that taunts the heart
But how can you fight the temptation
When your sanity's falling apart?
Does your blood reek of pain and remembrance?
Does your past bind you tight to the wall?
Do your screams echo still in your memory?
Do your scars end up catching your fall?
Can you fight down the demons that haunt you?
Can you kiss death but not quite decide?
Do you dream of a picturesque lifetime?
Do you seek for yourself when you hide?
[Chorus]
You can bleed with the pain that weakens you
You can try to correct all the wrongs
You can sew up your torn apart heart
But be strong
You can climb any mountains that face you
You can set out that heart to defrost
Set fire to all of those bridges
That you crossed.
[Chorus]
Can you see through the two way mirror?
Can you pick out the truth from the lie?
Can you listen but not hear the music?
Though I smile, I cannot help but cry...

It's nothing spectacular... but opinions would be fabulous.
