Pretty sure it was a duet male and female mid 70's
this is all I can remember
"Here we are again, crazy in the head, gee your eyes are gorgeous especially in bed"

The song is titled "Two Sleepy People" and it was written by Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser about 80 years ago. It first appeared in the movie "Thanks for the Memories"
Bob Hope and Shirley Ross recorded it in the 1930s and Julie London performed a solo version in the 60s. Carly Simon re-did it in the 70s, as did Art Garfunkel. Don't know who recorded the version you know.
The original lyrics are as follows:
Here we are out of cigarettes
Holding hands and yawning, look how late it gets
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light
and too much in love to say goodnight
Here we are in the cozy chair
Picking out a wishbone from the Frigidaire
Two sleepy people with nothing to say
And too much in love to break away
Do you remember the nights we used to linger in the hall?
Father didn't like you at all
Remember the reason why we married in the Fall
To rent this little nest and get a bit of rest
Well, here we are just about the same
Foggy little fellow, drowsy little dame
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light
And too much in love to say goodnight
Here we are, don't we look a mess
Lipstick on your collar and wrinkles in my dress
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light
And too much in love to say goodnight
Here we are crazy in the head
Gee your eyes are gorgeous even when they're red
Two sleepy people who know very well
They're too much in love to break the spell
Do you remember the nights we used to cuddle in the car
Watching every last fading star
And remember the doctor said your health was under par
And you my little snooks were ruining your looks
Well, here we are keeping up the pace
Letting each tomorrow slap us in the face
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light
And too much in love to say goodnight

Excellent, thanks so much that is definetly the song, now all I have to find out is who I remember singing it, I think it came out around the same time as "afternoon delight" ... again many thanks
