rosetta stone is horrible. the one i heard teaches you a spanish/castellano accent which is only used in spain (i'd rather have a mexican accent). here's a good website with lessons

    i also recommend this book

Again, it depends on the situation. Hopefully this helps.

My aunt, the one who is a professor, is coming to visit me today.

The tables, the ones that are made of plastic, are cheap.

My uncle, the one who is a taxi driver, will arrive soon.

My pants, the ones that are old, are very comfortable.

When the relative pronoun refers to an abstract idea, use "lo que."

    Lo que quieres no existe.
That which you want does not exist.

    No comprendo lo que ocurre.
I do not understand that which is happening.

    & for "el" & "lo"

    Tengo = I have
Tengo la pluma. = I have the pen.
La tengo. = I have it.

    Juan lo tiene.

    Juan tiene = John has
Juan tiene el libro. = John has the book.
Juan lo tiene. = John has it.

    María los tiene.

    María tiene = Mary has
María tiene los libros. = Mary has the books.
María los tiene. = Mary has them.

QUIEN/QUIENES is used after a preposition when the antecedent is a person:
Ese es el médico de quien hablo. That's the doctor I'm talking about.
Los niños con quienes juego. The children I play with (with whom I play).

EL QUE /EL CUAL forms must be used after a preposition when the antecedent is not a person:
The topics they talk about are silly. The company you work for is very famous.

EL CUAL forms tend to be more formal, but are basically interchangeable with EL QUE forms. Both forms can be used for people or things after a preposition.

    The commas are very important.

    Entendiste?

    Default Good Book!

DMoney - thanks for posting the link to the "Spanish in 24 Hours" book. I was able to find it at my local B & N and it is a good resource for us beginners! My problem is I have no one to speak with so practicing in real-life situations is difficult!
    Thanks!
