Solved: Please help me identify this song I'm humming

Sorry, i don't know any of the lyrics, so I did my best to hum the song (yeah, embarrassing, but I'm desperate).

I heard it a few nights ago at the supermarket. It sounds like a classic, soft rock type of song. I know I've heard it before and it should be somewhat popular.

The first 25 seconds or so is the intro to the song, which is instrumental, and the rest is where the guy starts singing.

I would've never guessed that was Coldplay. I was thinking the song was older than that and I was wrong about the genre. I was looking in the wrong place the whole time.
