Every night when I can see the moon
And there's a gentle breeze
The grass whistles an entrancing tune,
Swaying majestically
When the delicate smell of hazel
Mysteriously fills the air
Thats when I wait with baited breath
For when she will appear
My musical princess, dancing to sounds deaf by ears
My musical princess, weaving freely in the night air
Can she hear these silent driplets, my captivated tears
Or the sound of my heartstrings, singing out to her?
My musical princess...
My musical princess...
Not a movement missed in this private show
As the moon starts slowly waning
But in her meadow of maestros
Time seems to have no meaning
Yet as the night sounds start to quiet
And the moon hides behind the clouds
Darkness claims the meadow
The smell of hazel fades out
My musical princess, dancing to sounds deaf by ears
My musical princess, weaving freely in the night air
Can she hear these silent driplets, my captivated tears
Or the sound of my heartstrings, singing out to her?
My musical princess...
My musical princess...
Maybe one day it'll be a dance for two
When her music and mine will blend in perfection
Until then I'll be content with what I have
Through silent retrospection
My musical princess, dancing to sounds deaf by ears
My musical princess, weaving freely in the night air
Can she hear these silent driplets, my captivated tears
Or the sound of my heartstrings, singing out to her?
My musical princess...
My musical princess...
