    SEFYU :

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I've begun translating the text - I will finish it tomorrow but as French is not my native language I have some problems with the text under the first "SEFYU" - if someone who understands it could help me and post a translation of the first part of that paragraph (until "paire de quartier") that would really help, I could then paste it.

There's much slang in his lyrics XD I'm not sure how to say it in english perfectly but as the same meaning:

    Oh, avant l’armée j’était tarmi dans l’quartier j’ai formé l’équipe la
Oh, before army I was well-known in the block, I formed the worst
groupe, police was alarmed, we beat the madest guys
this rap I'm not afraid to get you to get affirmed, after this 3 years
I went to jail where I was locked up, I saw those who loved me better than
    travers d’une paire de quartier,
    through a few blocks

Okay, thanks for the help. I stil have problems with this paragraph and I have left the part I couldn't understand in French. The rest of the translation should be relatively accurate...

Letter from the front, here the combats rage, already more than a year has passed far from you, I don't count the number of foes anymore, or I've re-read your letters in order to find your support there, it's in your smile that I find the strength to fight, never before has a winter seemed that cold to me, one day I'll return, God willing.

    KENZA:
I've read your letter, and the tears are flowing from my eyes, salty pearls are rolling over my cheeks, the paper is crumbled my fingers, already more than a year far from you, in each of the letters from the front, I tremble I'm frightened I'm cold, I see you proud in the uniform, on the departure platform of the train station, you have promised me to return, I have promised to support you, you find the strength to fight in my eyes and my smile.

    SEFYU:
Oh, before the army I was well-known in the block, I formed the worst group, the police was alarmed, we beat the maddest guys, this rap I'm not afraid to burn you to prove myself, after these 3 years I went to jail where I was locked up, I saw those who loved me better than through a few blocks, I will spare you from these tears by going to the front before they find me twisted, from Rwanda to the Near East, I have influenced myself the desastrous state of things has well changed my ways at the crossroad, I have written into the book of happenings (diary?) of each day, so that you can understand what I feel during my journeys, t’inquiète la salope j’ai pas détourné, tu m’connais, je suis borné l’auteur de la morbillard enfermé, it's been a year since I left
pff time passes wickedly, I write this letter during the attack of a Molotov cocktail...

    KENZA:
You have described to me your life down there on the bottom of the trenches, you talk of an odour that flies one of death, and you have made friends, they have disappeared today, you evade talking to me about it, you don't want me to worry, to have dreams at night of my face of other countries, in your heart everything is destroyed stay my picture, we are in the full month of december a second winter far from you, the snow has the colour of blood my hands are burnt by the cold.

    SEFYU:
Oh, I have written you many letters so that you understand that this is the last one, because behind me, the shootings are arising (or: sounding) they are fending them off in the back, the war has no boundaries, I have learned that yesterday, when a bullet hit my arteries, I am on the ground, I will leave, I embrace you, you, embrace my dead supporters, with the ways and the heart of a bulldozer, I have understood that in the casting of death there's nothing but sadness, who announces I'm bringing you face to honour after death.

    KENZA:
Far from your eyes mine don't see anything anymore, my heart doesn't beat anymore without the rhythm of yours, come back to me, I have taken you from it the memory is torturing me, why give away your life on a battlefield?
Far from your eyes mine don't see anything anymore, my heart doesn't beat anymore without the rhythm of yours, come back to me, I have taken you from it the memory is torturing me, you have given away your life on a battlefield...

    SEFYU:
One day, I'll come back, God willing.

I guess there are some mistakes in the lyrics, I try to correct the ones I get but there are so many possibilities! It's hard to understand him.. I looked for a few lyrics sites, in each one they wrote something else soo... XD

At Darfour my life changed from the shopping in Carrefour (it's a supermarket) j’écris sur le carnet le déroulement de chaque jour,
I write in my note book what happens everyday (it's like a diary, he wants her to know what he's doing)

    don't worry I didn't deturned
You know me, I'm stubborn the smell of death locked me in

So there are no "official" lyrics? That might of course explain a thing or two... like the lack of commas where there should be some
well, we gave it our best shot I guess

Well Sefyu's first part is really ununderstandable Xd Maybe in the cd there are the true lyrics, most of time they just write : ... for his first part! Because no one really knows what he says, it COULD be different things, that sounds alike XD

I don't know if there's an official website could be a try lol

I found the lyrics on her official site:

    http://www.kenza-farah.fr/paroles/pa...-du-front.html

The version we have above seems to be the correct one... I haven't checked word by word but Sefyu's 1. part looks like it's the same text.

    Letter from the front.

Here the combats are raging. Already over a year spent away from you. I don’t count the number of times I have reread your letters to find your support. It’s from your smile that I draw the strength to fight. Never has winter felt so cold to me.
Some day, I will come back, inch’allah. (god willing)

I read your letter, and tears are running from my eyes, salty pearls roll on my cheeks. The paper crumples between my finger. Already a year far from you... With each letter from the front, I shake, I’m afraid, I’m cold. I see you proud in your uniform. On the train platform, ready to leave. You promised you’d be back, I promised to support you. You draw the strength to fight from my eyes and my smile.

Oh, before the army when I was a kid in the hood. I had the best posse, the cops were scared. Yo we smoked the craziest homies. **** I wasn’t scared to smoke you for my rep. Three years without parole they put me in the slammer. I saw who cared about me better than through a pair of Cartier (glasses), I’ll spare you the tears. When I signed up for the front I wanted to turn the page before I got busted. From Rwanda to the Near East I got inspired and Darfur changed me a lot from shopping at Carrefour. And I write in my notebook how each day goes by, so you can understand how I feel throughout my days . Don’t worry ho, I haven't sold out. I don’t wanna shock you, you know me I’m stubborn. The smell of death locked me up inside it. It’s been a year since I left, time goes by mean, I write this letter during the assault of a cocktail molotov.

You describe your life in the trenches, you talk about a smell, the smell of death. And you made some friends but they’re gone today, you avoid talking about it you don’t want me to worry.
At night you dream of my face, of other places. In your heart where everything is destroyed remains my image. We’re in the middle of December, a second winter far from you. The snow has the color of blood and my hands are burnt by the cold.

Oh I write you this (enieme means n as in unknown value) letter so you’ll understand it’s the last one. Cause behind me shots are pushing me back, war has no barriers, I learned that yesterday, when a bullet lodged itself in my artery. I’m on the ground. I’m going. I kiss you. You, kiss my supporters, dead, in the manner, the heart of a bulldozer. I get it, when Death holds a casting session more than Misery applies. I take with me your face posthumously.

Far from your eyes mine can’t see anymore. My heart won’t beat without the rhythm of yours. Come back to me, I beg you memories assail me, why give your life on the battlefield?

Far from your eyes mine can’t see anymore. My heart won’t beat without the rhythm of yours. Come back to me, I beg you memories assail me, you gave your life on the battlefield...

Someday, I'll come back... Inch Allah...

The text in french first posted contained mistakes... I fixed them best I could by listening to the song... Some of the words are verlan. By the way even the link you posted has mistakes (y a une an qu’j’suis partit, what he really says)=y'a un an que j'suis parti) (je te vois fière en uniforme, what she really says= je te revois fier en uniforme) Are you sure this is the official site?
If you don't understand this no one can help you... This is an amazing song...
