    Default Thanks to stixoi.info

    Αχ, έλα, έλα...
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

    @Amethystos: thanks

    Έξω ντέρτια και καημοί
    Nevermind my problems and sorrow
    θέλω απόψε να γλεντήσω
tonight I want to have fun
    And the fire of love
    to put out in wine

Ah, come, come, come to my sweet arms
    to sweeten my heart
Come back to me, vai, vai, vai

    The girl I love
has left me and is with someone else
    my golden heart
    will be full of sorrow
    Αχ, έλα, έλα...
    Ah, come, come....

Default Yeap this should be a "somehow" translation

I want to congratulate you Zvezda for your courage to "somehow" translate this one.

Well, in cases like this one, it's more "friendly user" to try and give a synopsis of the lyrics than try to translate it word by word. It's pretty strange to explain the difference between "kaymos" and "derti" to someone.

So for sure this is a nice translation, but if i didn't know the song, i could not find out what this man is trying to say.

    Life's full of difficulties

I think that criticising when you have no alternative translation to offer is not a wise thing to do. The song is pretty straightforward, but if you think there is a story behind the lyrics then oblige us by writing it down.
