You gave me strength to carry on - Ты дала (the one who this phrase is said for is a female - right?) мне силы продолжать идти
That's when I heard you say - Тогда я услышал (услышала), что ты говорила
I promise you - Я обещаю тебе
I'm always there - Я всегда буду рядом
When your heart is filled with sorrow - Когда твое сердце наполнено горем
And despair - И отчаянием
And I'll carry you - И я поддержу тебя (lit: I'll support you). И я буду помнить тебя (lit: I'll remember you). translation depends on the particular meaning of "carry"
When you need a friend - Когда тебе нужен друг
You'll find my footprints in the sand - Ты найдешь мои следы на песке

Also, this translation meant that you talk to a friend or a child (the form of "you"), if you want a more official version - it has to be changed a little.
