    Cool Mr. Smith ?????

As the evening shadows fall on the flowers in the hall
A needle and the thread, someone to make my bed
A sink that's black that covers the crack that needs water
Oh Mr. Smith please give my love to your daughter
I'd like you to go and tell her for me
That its all the same, I only want to change her name
Think it over if you will
'Cause you know that's how I feel
And tell her all anew so she'll remember too
A sink that's black that covers the crack that needs water
Oh Mr. Smith please give my love to your daughter

I remember this song form the British invasion first wave in the early 60's
the lyrics are as complete as I can recall, but unsure of the song title or the
Artist. If any of you remember this particular song and you were in high school
in the Philippines at that time (1965) you may have heard of this song, I've
heard of it so you should too!!

I heard this song by Lovin' Spoonful in 1966, i think. But I do not recognize the second line in the text that you listed. As far as I remember, the second line is: "There' no on there to see, nobody here but me"

I have for a long time tried to find a record with Lovin Spoonful which contains a track with the title "Mr. Smith", but so far without any luck. If you find it out, I will be grateful for a message.

    Best regards

Thank you for the lyrics! This song is one of my favorites during the 60s.
