Good idea Dmoney, as subjunctive is widely used in everyday speech
“If cats looked like frogs we'd realize what nasty, cruel little bastards they are. Style. That's what people remember.” ― Terry Pratchett.
lol... well, you just have to think verb tenses make the language more "challenging and interesting" foreign languages !!!

I agree with you dmoney. I've heard many English speakers mention how hard it is for them to learn the subjunctive. I dabbled a little in French when I was in high school and was told that even in French the subjunctive is not used as much as in Spanish. But you can definitely learn it if you make it a point to do so!
i'll learn it eventually, but i haven't really been tryin to learn spanish lately. i've just been picking up on new stuff without putting much effort into it. at least i learned the past tense a while ago. i can't believe i had been learning spanish for a year and never bothered learning it :P

1. I'm having trouble translating this verse:
Donde estes solo te pido que no vayas a olvidar
que por amarte como un Christo me quede con
los brazos abiertos al final. Y ya ves que aun siento
de tu noche el trovador, le niegas a mi noche la ilusion
de ver un nuevo dia amanacer.
2. We have an expression, "I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday" indicating that you are not as stupid as the person thinks you are - is there a similar kind of expression in Spanish?
Thanks for the help!

1. Donde estes solo te pido que no vayas a olvidar
Wherever you'll be I only ask that you don't forget
que por amarte como un Christo me quede con
that because I loved you like Christ I was left with
los brazos abiertos al final. Y ya ves que aun siento
my arms open till the end. & you already see that I still feel,
de tu noche el trovador, le niegas a mi noche la ilusion
from you night, the serenader, you deny my night the illusion
de ver un nuevo dia amanacer.
of seeing a new day begin.
2. You can also say "I wasn't born yesterday"~"No nací ayer"
Gracias a todos!!!
Dmoney - "pendejo" isn't in my dictionary - what am I saying?
when learning a new language, bad words are always the first ones to be learned
lol... u r right Xiurell... Dmoney is the best example (it's a compliment ehhhh )
