    [DY]

Tu sabes que somos de calle, (Daddy!)
hay cria y corazon, (Making history!)
    siente el fuego, (Haciendo historia!)
las reglas del juego las pongo yo... (Ustedes quieren mas presion, ja!)
(You know my time is it, you know my time is it Daddy!)

    mataron a mi socio Siquitria,

    [MC Ceja]

    Soy de la calle,
hell yeah, I'm from the block,
where *****s got big guns they pop And get Ur *** drop,
yeah, ______ in top to the cups,

te matan de espalda, (Come on!)
esto es una selva, (Chyno Ny!)
    aqui nadie te salva... (Yo!)

    [Chyno Nyno]

    no toleramos Listeria,

Come on man!)
siente el fuego, (I Got Ur Back Man)
las reglas del juego las pongo yo...(Let them know)

    [Cosculluela]

    Prrra!
    Daddy!
    Diesel!
    Increible!
    Nosotros dictamos,
    las reglas callejeras,
desde los 80, hasta el infinito,
    Puerto Rico,
    los creadores del movimiento urbano...
    Talento de Barrio!
    Once again!
    El Jefe!

LOL!!! yeah, I know what pendejo is... I was trying to keep it clean. It doesn't mean "coward" to Cubans either. In fact, Cubans don't use it in their own dialect but have adopted it. It may have originated from the Mexican dialect.

Keep teaching me that slang... I have a lot to learn.

i think you did good. i didn't have time to read it all (i might finish it later), but there isn't much slang at all. just wanted to add that barrio, even though it means neighborhood, a better translation is just hood since it's meant to be like a ghetto, or a rough place to live. and cria, i think that may mean a group or gang, but i don't know for sure. it's just the way they used it in the song.

dmoney - I took your advice and for these types of songs, I will translate "barrio" to "hood". You are correct..."Cria" is "gang". Again, I'm stuck between translating literally, so you get an idea of what the words refer to (and looking like a total dweeb!), or translating for meaning, and running the risk of misinterpreting slang and still looking like a dweeb. It's a no win situation. BUT, I'm sure enjoying the ride!!!

i read some more of it, chota is a cop or a gossiper, but in the instance it was used, i'm pretty sure cop would fit. when it says "el bichote, el gangster, el chulo"
i think chulo is supposed to be the original meaning of a pimp. “bichotes fecas” i think comes from english and is supposed to be "fake b*tches". that's all for now. check out diccionariolibre.com and search for the words you don't know. it has a lot of slang. most of it is dominican, but the puerto rican stuff should be there too

Oh, yes! You wrote about the diccionariolibre.com and I had forgotten about it! THanks for the reminder. I figured what "bichotas" meant but "fecas"? I'm deconstructing my Spanish!

Hey...Bebestylee.. check out the slang thread above. It would be great for you to visit and contribute to that thread. Maybe you can post these definitions there as well. I like to go to some Dominican dictionaries and Puerto Rican dictionaries but they don't always have the words I'm looking for so this is very helpful!
    Welcome to the forum!
