One way to say this would be "Ihr vermisst mich schon sehr" or "Ihr fangt schon an, mich sehr zu vermissen". While "Ihr fehlt mir" is "I miss you (plural)".

Nothing that's what you would call "slang" and I do not see a need to translate it. You could write "without turning around much"

Das wär's gewesen would be "That would have been it/that" in general but I believe this is not the only way to translate it. We'll see what fits the situation best.
