My Turn

I have asked all of you to help write song lyrics for my band. So, I decided to give it a shot and write one of my own! Any comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated!

A Complicated Relationship

Johnny met a girl,
Who was looking for a boyfriend.
She was really nice,
He was looking for a good time.
They went out to lunch,
She thought he was romantic.
It was a… complicated relationship.

She liked him,
And he liked her.
Thought they’d be together forever.
Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.

Johnny got a call,
It was really unexpected.
He didn’t believe it,
When she said that she was pregnant.
Thought it was a joke,
This just couldn’t happen.
It was a… complicated relationship.

She liked him,
And he liked her.

He was riding his bike,
When he spotted the girl.
She was with another guy,
It was the end of his world.
This just couldn’t be,
How could it get any worse?
It was a… complicated relationship.

i think its ok. i kinda dont get why its a "complicated relationship"
but other than that, its pretty good.
maybe add a little more detail.

Thanks! It was the first song I ever wrote, so I didn't expect to be perfect. I wrote it in about 10 min. so it was all I could think of. If I had more time I'm sure I could add more detail.

The lyrics are simple... They need to move round better than they do.
This sounds more like a poem than a proper song.

it's simple, but touching though. keep on writtin' and you'll get better and better !

Not too bad for a drummer, eh!

It always gets me when people say that, drummers are just people and can write lyrics as well as anyone else if they have the time and imagination...
