The Question
The question is not
Where will you be in ten years
But what about tomorrow
Will you be full of regret and sorrow
The question is not
Can we change the past
Cause the past is long gone
And I feel we have withdrawn
From a challenge that we didn’t see
Please just believe in me
The only answer I need to know
Is how would you feel now
If I told you I cared
That I will be there
No matter what I’ve done or said
All those moments are dead
Erased form our minds
All we have are these new times
That I already need to make up for
I already need to make up for
The question is not
Will luck be on our side
Cause we will still need the drive
To want to make it to the end
The question is not
Will it be too heavy a burden
You’re not alone
I’m walking with you
I’m helping you home
I hope I can do that, over and over
The only answer I need to know
Is how would you feel now
If I told you I cared
That I will be there
No matter what I’ve done or said
All those moments are dead
Erased from our minds
All we have are these new times
That I already need to make up for
Never let it engulf your mind
That we are too late
That our time has come
I will give up my heart, I will give up my soul
You are all that I have
That I would care to live for
Grab my hand and we can walk through that door
Together
And I’ll ask you
One more time
The only question that really matters
How would you feel
If I just came out and said it
If I told you I loved you
If I told you I cared
That I will be there
No matter what I’ve done or said
All those moments are dead
Erased from our minds
All we have are these new times
And I plan to make them mine
As long as they’re with you
