    Question Deichkind - "Remmidemmi"

[edit] lyrics fixed thanks to Steena's help.

I was surprised to see no translation for this. I've been working on translating this for a day or two and I think I've given it my best shot. I'm sure there are many mistakes, but I think that most of it is right or fairly close.

Please help me fix everything that's wrong. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

(this is my first post here, I hope to translate more German lyrics, not only for the sake of translating them but also to improve my German.)

    anyway, here's what I've got:

    Deichkind - "Remmidemmi"

Deine Eltern sind auf einem Tennisturnier
(Your parents are at a Tennis Tournament)
Du machst eine Party, wie nett von dir
(You throw a party, how nice of you)
    Impulsive Menschen kennen keine Grenzen
    (Impulsive people know no limit)
Schmeiß die Möbel aus dem Fenster
(chuck the furniture out the window)
    wir brauchen Platz zum Tanzen
    (we need room to dance)

Yippie Yippie Yeah! Yippie Yeah! Krawall und Remmidemmi! *x4*
(Yippie Yippie Yeah! Yippie Yeah! Riot and rave!)

    Ein bisschen Gold und Silber!
    (A little gold and silver!)
    Ein bisschen Glitzer Glitzer!
    (a little glitter glitter!)
Habt ihr nichts zum Fressen hier
(don't you have anything to eat here?)
    Ich will Pizza!
    (I want pizza!)
Deine Mutter hat gesagt "Tragt nicht soviel Dreck rein."
(your mother said “Don't carry so much dirt inside.”)
Auf dem Foto in der Küche sieht sie aus wie Katja Ebstein
(In the photo in the kitchen, she looks like Katja Ebstein)

Yippie Yippie Yeah! Yippie Yeah! Krawall und Remmidemmi! *x4*
(Yippie Yippie Yeah! Yippie Yeah! Riot and rave!)

    Wir tanzen auf den Tischen
    (We dance on the tables)
    Die Stimmung ist beschissen
    (The atmosphere is shitty)
    Ich will nackt sein
    (I want to be naked)
Im Pool kann man sich erfrischen
(In the pool one can refresh oneself)
Die Boxen von deinem Vater nehme ich mit in die Sauna
(I take your father's speakers with me in the sauna)
Ich mache einen aufguss mit der Hausbar
(I make drinks at the house bar )
    Und dann dreh ich lauter
(And then I spin more wildly)

Yippie Yippie Yeah! Yippie Yeah! Krawall und Remmidemmi! *x4*
(Yippie Yippie Yeah! Yippie Yeah! Riot and rave!)

Hey! Spießt mal nicht so rum! Ey!
(Hey! Don't act like that! Ey!)
    Wir wollen nur was erleben
(We only want to experience something)
Privat bei reichen Eltern, was kann es schöneres geben.
(Personally, with rich parents, what could be better than this?)

Hi nevermind Welcome to the board ... don't worry you've translated the song in a good way.

    Some small suggestions:
    Impulsive Menschen kennen keine Grenzen
    (Impulsive ones know no limit)

Instead of "ones" you can say people

    Die Stimmung ist beschissen
    (The tendency is shitty)

A better word for Stimmung would be "atmosphere"

Ey spießt mal nicht so rum, ey
(Ey! don't roast rum like that. Ey!)

This is indeed complicated and wrong. "rum" has nothing to do with the English word "rum", it's a slang word which has to be seen together with "spießen" in this case, a Spießer is a square, the word "spießen" is an invention of a verb by Deichkind, it does not really exist. I'd translate it as "Hey, don't act like that!" maybe ...

    Wir wollen nur was erleben
    (We want only what experience)

We only want to experience something

Privat bei reichen Eltern, was kann es schöneres geben.
(Personally, with rich parents, what can be so lovely?)

... what could be better than this?

The rest looks good to me
    होता है जो होना है ... वक़्त ही शायद खुदा है ...

Danke Schön! Thank you so much, that was incredibly helpful. I will fix the lyrics now.

You picked a very complicated song The sentence with the Aufguss doesn't seem right either, but I have no better suggestion right now.

Ich mache einen aufguss mit der Hausbar
(I become one with the house bar )

Maybe you could say that the person is making some drinks, because I guess that's what they mean here ...

Where are you from and how long have you been learning German?

Well some of it was also very simple and easy, like "Ich will Pizza!" But, yeah, many lines were very frustrating.

you didn't say anything about this, but I don't think it's right:

Deine Mutter hat gesagt "Tragt nicht soviel Dreck rein."
(your mother said “Don't bear so much filth pure.”)

the "don't bear so much filth pure" part doesn't really make any sense to me.

    anyway,

I live just north of St. Louis, Missouri in the US. I've been interested in the German language for maybe 3 or 4 years, but I didn't really start learning it until August of last year when I started taking German class in school. Then in July I went to Germany (Ludwigsburg, just north of Stuttgart) on a 2 week exchange trip, and since then I've become quite obsessed with German. I really want to become fluent enough in the language to hold a casual conversation completely auf deutsch by next Summer, when I hope to visit my host again in Germany.

Indeed ... there's a small mistake here as well:
Deine Mutter hat gesagt "Tragt nicht soviel Dreck rein."
(your mother said “Don't bear so much filth pure.”)

Your mother said: "Don't carry so much dirt inside" (of the house for example)

Your experience so far sounds very good. An amazing amount of work if you can translate lyrics like the above one after studying it only a little more than a year! If you want more practice in forming sentence and stuff like that, you're most welcome in the conversation thread

    thank you again.

Well, translating text from german to english is probably the easiest thing to do.

after gaining a solid foundation in the basics, I've been learning more and more on my own because the others in my class don't put in very much effort and so they slow the class down a lot.

I can engage in a text conversation in german so long as I have a De-En dictionary nearby for when I don't know a word or I'm unsure about the grammar.

I think I'll post in there, but it look's like it's been silent for nearly a month. I'm going to eat dinner and then I'll post something in the conversation thread.

    bis später!
