    Hey everyone!

Could someone please translate me the lyrics of that song?
Maybe this is not "pure" romanian, cuz this is a vlach song from serbia, but i really like it =)

Hope you guys can help me :P

    Māndra mea cu cārpa mură
    Mānca-ţi-aş limba din gură
    Draga mea , băla mea
Nu mai ştiu cānd ne-am afla

Şi-ai doi dinţi ai de sub limbă
    Să uideşti tu daico ştirbă
    Draga mea , băla mea
Nu mai ştiu cānd ne-am afla

    Şi croviţu-ăl din obraz
    Ce-i fac' neichii la necaz
    Draga mea , băla mea
Nu mai ştiu cānd ne-am afla

    Thanks in advance, greetz

I'll try to translate as much as I can, but I don't recognize a lot of the words, & the contractions (-) make it hard too

    Māndra mea cu cārpa mură
My "māndra" with a soaked rag
    Mānca-ţi-aş limba din gură
    "Mānca-ţi-aş" the tongue from mouth
    Draga mea , băla mea
    My dear, my "băla"
Nu mai ştiu cānd ne-am afla
I no longer know when we'd find each other

Şi-ai doi dinţi ai de sub limbă
& you have two teeth, you have under (your) tongue
    Să uideşti tu daico ştirbă
    To soak/wet(?), you, toothless "daico"
    Draga mea , băla mea
    My dear, my "băla"
Nu mai ştiu cānd ne-am afla
I no longer know when we'll find each other

    Şi croviţu-ăl din obraz
    & "croviţu-ăl" from cheek/face
    Ce-i fac' neichii la necaz
What is done(?) "neichii" to distress
    Draga mea , băla mea
    My dear, my "băla"
Nu mai ştiu cānd ne-am afla
I no longer know when we'll find each other

DeBaires, I honestly tell you that I would have translated the same things you translated!

I guess someone who knows this dialect would be able to first translate the "missing" words in Romanian. Thwen we can talk about translating those words in English!

What I can help you with are the following:

māndra-- is a term used to address (young) women. Literally it means "the pround one" but the meaning is "sweetheart" ( Māndra mea= Iubita mea )

Neica is the masculin equivalent of māndra.

The sentence "Ce-i fac' neichii la necaz" means: "That I do to him when I'm angry", That refers to "crovițu" from the previous line, which I have no idea what it means!!

Mānca-ţi-aş is an inverted form of the conditional + pronoun form: ți-aș mānca: I would eat you/your/from you. English does not have any equivalent for this verbal construction.

Anyway, DeBaires, the rest of your translation is very good Congratulations!

"Bălă" perhaps means "white haired" or "blonde", as I think I can identify the Slavic etymon.
"Cu cārpa mură" means " having the kerchief with 'mură' " ( http://www.mehedinti.info/arta_popul...componenta.htm ).
It seems to be in Oltenian dialect, not Banatian, with some Serbian words.
