    About "De los arboles frutales
    me gusta el melocoton.
Y de los reyes de España
    Alfonsito de Borbon"
I have found many songs or poems that starts this way ... It should be very used in Spain I think the one who can make it clear is Xiurell, he must know this song (or some poem )

    La reina Mercedes

    << De los árboles, frutales,
    me gusta, el melocotón,
y de los Reyes, de España,
    Alfonsito, de Borbón,
    Alfonsito, de Borbón.
    -¿Dónde vas, Alfonso XII?
    -Dónde voy, triste de mí,
    voy en busca, de Mercedes,
    que ayer, tarde la perdí,
    que ayer, tarde la perdí.
-Si Mercedes, ya se ha muerto,
muerta está, que yo la vi,
    cuatro, duques la llevaban,
    por las calles, de Madrid,
    por las calles, de Madrid....>>

    Día triste
    <<De los árboles, frutales,
    me gusta, el melocotón,
y de los Reyes, de España,
    Alfonsito, de Borbón,
    Alfonsito, de Borbón.
    -¿Dónde vas, Alfonso XIII?
    -Dónde voy, triste de mí,
    voy en busca, de Victoria,
que ayer tarde, no la vi,
que ayer tarde, no la vi. >>

    For other side:

    DE LOS ARBOLES FRUTALES

    <<De los arboles frutales
    me gusta el melocoton.
Y de los reyes de España
    Alfonsito de Borbon
    (bis)

    Donde vas Alfonso XII
    donde vas triste de tí.
    Voy en busca de Mercedes,
que ayer tarde no la ví.

    Merceditas ya esta muerta
muerta esta, que yo la ví.
    Cuatro duques la llevaban
    por las calles de Madrid
    (bis)>>

I agree with you, at first I was wondering if she could be talking some dialect or an old form of Spanish, because it seems she pronounces it like a portuguese speaker and this song is quite old but there lots of mispronounces in two parts. Of course, nobody cares about it, since the song is amazing. By the way arretirar-se exists in Portuguese, I didn't notice it, my head is getting crazy day by day with Spanish - Portuguese - English - Russian - Math ... I also loved this song, I looked up on Web and I discover it's a child's melody and a poem too. Thank you very much for your points

hehehe...I'm going crazy just with English hehehe... I should start studing Portuguese, but I'm too lazy right now :P ... I have enough with work, english and my laziness .

So you have "arretirar(se)" in Portuguese ? Wooow... :=D You're language is very similar to mine in many aspects, and I guess it shouldn't be hard to study for me ... I'll try one day :=D.
The Spanish in the poem/song isn't that old, but it's written in a poetic way, like the old poets did . And for sure she's mispronouncing some word, it's seems like she's from Turkey or somewhere near. (dunno why I should have read something in Turkish while looking for the song )...

Ok.. it's my time to sleep, my work is waiting for me tomorrow early (evil work )

    See you

    todos por amor de ti.
This construction is used in Portuguese only in poetry, but is very very old-fashioned.

I stopped doing translations Portuguese to Spanish because the girls told me that they could understand almost all That way is not funny . Well when she sings
    Voy en busca de Mercedes
she's saying it perfectly as an iberic portuguese.

For portuguese lyrics and language, I'm working with those guys on this forum, adding more lyrics in portuguese
    http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/ly...tml#post557466

Ok, ok it's not so aclaimed as the Spanish Lyrics section - yes, everytime I go to the main page, Spanish Section has always more users viewing it - but I'm about to ask Layla to create a forum for Portuguese Lyrics too!

Boa noite e bons sonhos !

yeah, she pronounces the S in a very particular way, like some one from Portugal, or somebody speaking one of the many Spanish dialects

and the first verses are a children song
