Just some few notes

Sin mitad: without my other part/half refering to the girl he has lost
china: in this case is a pebble, a small stone
tocar la china: is a child game (like to get the short straw), you have to choose which hand is empty if you choose the one contening the stone(china) you lose, so is a metaphor of bad luck.
