Sounds like the Bob Dylan song "One More Cup of Coffee" (to the Valley Below).

but I never heard a female do that song.

Check it out to see if it's the same song as the one you heard the femal do..

The only other thing I can think of from that era is

Bonnie Tyler - "Clouds In My Coffee"

Here are lyrics to 100 Coffee Songs

The following artists have also recorded the Dylan song, "One More Cup Of Coffee"

    Bic Runga
White Stripes (but I don't know if Meg or Jack provides the vocals)

One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
    To the valley below
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

Here's a duet with Emmylou Harris (Conflicting Info) but Harris is the correct artist.

Can't imagine a song more mellow than this ??

But I'm anxious to hear it when you find it.
