Purple Lighthouse

walking closesly with your head down low
emotional feelings conituing to grow
whats that you see out the corner of your eye
you look for a second, and postpone the bye bye
it’s just a light house right ?
standing proud with its purple stripe.
More important than you’ll ever be,
protecting people out at sea.
You laugh at the thought & walk on,
but it carries on an imperative icon.
From a distance you really see,
the light that shines, is necessary.
It helps people in the dark & leads them to safety,
suceeds, but carries on its duty.
It’s a harsh trained soldier & works alone,
competing with the moon, the moon outshone.
It judges no-one, so you sit near by,
jealous of it, standing high in the sky.
You get a soothing presence, a warm feeling,
whilst you gaze into the stars, wondering.
Is this lighthouse more important than you?
no-one to question, so it could be true.
The next day, you sit by it all afternoon,
the tall striped figure, which is immune.
To the pain and confusion you feel,
“Who am I ?” you shout & sqeal.
“Have I no purpose?”, a question repeated,
but you give up, remain defeated.
Unlike this lighthouse
standing proud with its purple stripe.
More important than you’ll ever be,
maybe you’ll consider an “accident” at sea,
a 100 foot drop, a horror it will be.
Then a new question will be raised,
“who was the man I used to be?”
so now think twice and ask
“is that the man I want to be? “
