Default Replay to there oughta be a law

The recommended site only provides a listing of the music played during the movie. It does not provide an actual soundtrack that one can buy. Not sure if the song was ever published for the general public, Somebody Help!

It appears you may have to buy the movie DVD and create your own CD of the music. I have search everywhere I can find but there does not seem be a recording of the soundtrack. The only album I can find by the Ledfords was called "Ledford String Band" (see attached link) and it was released in 1972. However, it does not include the song, "There Oughtta Be a Law".

The Ledfords are part of the group of folk musicians whose music is called "old-timey." It's what came before bluegrass. (see the attached NPR link). There is a group of old-timey musicians called the "Field Recorders' Collective" that been collecting recording of live performances by the best of the old-timey musicians (see the attached link). You could contact them to see if they have a recording of the song, "There Oughtta Be a Law" by The Ledfords (via the Contact tab on their website).

While "Fiddling" Steve Ledford is the best known of the Ledford family, other family members have participated in Roan Mountain Hilltoppers performances by the Birchfield Family from Roan Mountain, Tennessee. The Roan Mountain Hilltoppers have released an album called 'Down Home' but it also does not include the song, "There Oughtta Be a Law" by The Ledfords.

Well now that I have told everything I don't know about your song, the search goes on...

Default Thank for you help regarding THere oughtta be a law

On the DVD of the movie, it only plays half of the song before it is cut. I've also looked everywhere but could not find it. It may have been a special ontime performance for that movie. Again thank you for your help. eellis
