[SOLVED]Searching In Vain..... I Need Help

I have been going crazy trying to find a song. From what I remember it is from the early 80's. I thought the band was Gemini, but not sure. I remember very few of the lyrics. Somewhat of a slower love song about a guy leaving on tour. The lyrics I vaguely remember are "6 o clock in the morning and I'm on my way. Can't stand leaving but I just can't stay" chorus is "I'll be coming back today" etc. Please help if you can. I am going to drive myself and my daughter CRAZY until I find it and hear it again.

Thanks for all your help. However those are not the songs I am looking for. I heard a cover band play it at the Press Bar in St. Cloud. So it may not be a very well known song. Well obviously, I guess. I can't think of any other clues to mention. I wish I could. ut again I would like to thank you all for your help, and hopefully someone will let me know what it is.

I looked up those three songs, and no none of them are it. I am trying to think of some more specfic details. I was around 19 or 20, it has been many years since i have heard it. I just get it stuck in me head every once in a while

Maybe a cover/update of the old John Denver song, "Leaving on a Jet Plane"?

Okay, once again thanks for all your help, however that is not the song I am thinking of. I can tell you the songs I know it is not, and perhaps that will help make it easier.

No Alias, Bangles, basically it is not a very well known song. I always thought it was a cover of someone else's song, but it could very well have been a house band that did it. I just want to know I tried my best to find it, in case it is out there and I can hear it again, I am grateful for all your suggestions.

Hmm, I've been trying to figure this out. I'll check with a buddy about it.. this kid is insane when it comes to older songs no matter the genre. So if their is anything else you can think of that might help, please post.. I'm determined to help you find this song lol

When did you hear the cover band play this song? Do you remember the exact date or the name of the band?

Hello treehugger, I know I am 3 years late but I understand your angst, I have been trying to remember this song for years. Yes, I believe it was Gemini, and it must have been a local Minnesota band because I grew up in southwest Minnesota (middle of nowhere, Marshall, Worthington, Pipestone?) and I heard it when I was in my late teens as a lifeguard at the local swimming pool. I especially remember "Life seems very hard these days, without you" because it so reflected my teen ennui. It was later than 87 or 90, because I didn't start working until 91. I feel the chorus was something like, "I'll be coming back today" or "I'll be coming back to .... (something that rhymes with day)." If anyone can help solve this mystery, I would be grateful!
