More than a girlfriend

I have been told that there is another word in spanish for someone who is more than just a girlfriend, but not a wife. I can't find anything on it. Supposed to be something like correna?

I never heard "correna" but maybe you can say "mi mujer". That gives the connotation that she's either your wife or like a "common law" wife.
