90's early 200o's rock song about a girl's dad?!

It'a about the singers girlfriends dad..the singer and girl are on a beach in the video and i think it shows her shoulder or foot and she might have a tattoo or something anyways then they are in vegas and i think the dad shows up..the lyrics are a bit rough and they keep mentioning her dad please help!!

the wrong way by sublime mentions the girls dad. does this sound farmiliar
