Thumbs up Some Mercan Dede songs

I was hoping if I could get some help in learning more about a few songs by Mercan Dede (I already had someone help me with one song that had Arabic in it!). I have to edit this, because I forgot to split each song up into a separate post.

There is one song I like entitled, "Nerdesin" ("Where are you?" - lyrics begin around 5:05). I'm wondering if someone could translate the lyrics for me:

    Doldur sûfi kadehleri aşk ile,
    Kadehimiz candır, hepimiz bir can,
    İçelim de aklımız çıksın baştan,
    Doldur sûfi kadehleri aşk ile...

    Diyar-ı masivadan geliriz biz,
Evvel tek idik şimdi bir olduk biz,
    Duyardık, uyurduk, uyandık aşka,
    Doldur sûfi ahh yanıyor içim...

    Gel dedi sultanımız geldik işte,
    Üfle de neyden etmesin şikayet,
Şükür biz de aşık olduk nihayet,
    Doldur dede yürekleri aşk ile...

    Doldur sûfi kadehleri aşk ile
Fill, sufi, the goblets with love

    Kadehimiz candır, hepimiz bir can,
our goblet is soul, we’re all one soul

    İçelim de aklımız çıksın baştan,
Let’s drink so the logic comes out of our minds

    Doldur sûfi kadehleri aşk ile...
Fill, sufi, the goblets with love

    Diyar-ı masivadan geliriz biz,
We come from the land of Masiva (Masiva is some kind of a universe in Sufi belief)

Evvel tek idik şimdi bir olduk biz,
We were solitaries earlier but not we became one

    Duyardık, uyurduk, uyandık aşka,
We used to hear, we used to sleep, we are awake to love

    Doldur sûfi ahh yanıyor içim...
Fill it Sufi, i’m burning inside

    Gel dedi sultanımız geldik işte,
Our Sultan said come, so we came

    Üfle de neyden etmesin şikayet,
Blow the Ney, let it no complain (Ney= Sufi instrument)

Şükür biz de aşık olduk nihayet,
Thankfully we’re in love at last

    Doldur dede yürekleri aşk ile...
Fill, dede, the hearts with love (Dede is the old and wise Sufi)

I must say that one should know about Sufism too to understand full meaning lyrics may not be enough

Wow... very poetic. I like the meaning behind this song, even when I can't fully understand it (I'm not a Sufi Muslim). Thanks so much for your help!

    You're welcome

Tasavvuf (Sufi Belief's name) talks about "Divine Love" when it says love

And "oneness" of all souls. Being in love is described as being "drunk" It's like getting drunk in soul as drinking love and much more
