Question Solved: '70s song, "southern bells", what's the band?

I heard this song on WLIR-FM in NYC in the 70's. I think it was between '70 and '76.

The lyrics have stuck with me through the years, and I've never been able to find the name of the song or the group. It's slowly driving me nuts.

The first (or maybe main?) set of lines were:

    Just pulled in
    from a three-day drive
I got 10-pound bags hanging under my eyes
Tell you what I'd like to do
Run away to ?stone? mountain with you.

    Southern bells
    keep ringing in my head
Oh - can't leave 'em alone
Pass the lovin' [?that lovin'?] here
Wish I could take you home

There was a kind of guitar "zing" that accented the words "eyes" and "alone". And, the word "home" in the last line started on one note and slide upward a half or full step.

The vocals were sung by male voices. I *think* it was a southern rock band, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks in advance!

Holy Toledo! I am stunned, rocked out of my socks, blown out of the water! You were right on! That CD has the song!

I haven't heard it for 30 years! THANK YOU! You ROCK! You are awesome!

In fact there are two songs on the CD that I remember from high school and have deeply missed - "Southern Belles" and "Don't Let Me Down Again".

Pardon my French but HOLY CRAP! You are amazing, next time you are in Seattle let me buy you dinner at the best steak house in town!!!!

    Here's the lyrics:

I just pulled in from a three day drive
I got 10 pound bags hanging under my eyes
Barely made it up into my bed
When you started dancing through my head

Southern Belles keep ringing in my ears
    I can't leave 'em alone
Best lovin' that I've had in years
Wish I could take you home

Yonder come little Dixie looking fine
Heard her say that tonight she'd be mine
Tell you what I'd like to do
Run away to Stone Mountain with you

Southern Belles keep ringing in my ears
    I can't leave 'em alone
Best lovin' that I've had in years
Wish I could take you home

    THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
