He's the Lily of the Valley/En Cristo Hallo Amigo

The English version uses the same chorus while the Spanish version doesn't seem to repeat a chorus

He's the Lily of the Valley

    1. I have found a friend in Jesus
    He's everything to me
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole
In sorrow, He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay
He tells me every care on Him to roll

    Chorus:

He's the Lily of the Valley
    The bright and Morning Star
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul

    2. He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower
I have all for Him forsaken and all my idols torn
From my heart, and now He keeps me by His power
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempts me sore
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal

    Chorus

    3. He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here
While I live by faith and do His blessed will
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill
Then sweeping up to glory, to see His blessed face
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll

    Chorus

    En Cristo Hallo Amigo

    2. Jesús jamás me falta, jamás me dejará

It's an old-time hymn but a good one nonetheless.

We are singing this one this week - perfect timing - thanks so much for sharing that!!!! I have a copy of the Himnario Bautista (©1978), and it's on my 'to do' list to go through these lyrics to match with songs we sing, but that will be after school is out in two weeks... and I suspect that it may be in their since it is a well-known song - but my copy of the Himnario has no music, just lyrics, and of course, no English cross-reference. Our church typically does blended worship where I pair an older hymn with a newer chorus. It works for us!

I so appreciate you taking the time to share this with me!

Did you need the musical chords to this song? It's in the Adventist Spanish hymnal as well and one of the favorites at my church. This hymn is not on my website because I don't put too many hymns there, only a few.

You are so kind to ask - I actually have the music in a couple of hymnals. My comment about the hymnario not having music was that since the index is in Spanish, and there are many songs, such as Lily of the Valley that the title is not a direct translation in Spanish, so I am having to research a little for some of them to figure out exactly what English song some of the Spanish titles match up to.

After school is out in a few weeks, I plan to work on that project. I've taken to sticking my hymnario in my purse and when I have a few moments will look at a couple of songs and mentally try to match up music to the words - I've identified more than a dozen that way...

Thank you so much for offering the music, though - I really appreciate it very much!
