Hello to all

I will appreciate all help to make this correct. I think I got most of it correct but as English is my native language and song lyrics are sometimes confusing there are probably other problems than the ones I listed at the end.

Rammstein is not really "my world of music", but I spoke once with a guy who was a fan and he told me that the lyrics are full of double meaning and have much background which is not obviously from listening to their music time oafter time.

Read the comments, which are written down the video. The lyrics ara about a boxer. Maybe it helps you with translation.

It´s me again, reading the lyrics with the background of "boxing" maybe this would be th4 right translation:

Sie wird heut nacht nicht untergehn
It won´t go down down tonight

I think the singer means he won´t be knocked out (go down) this night...

Rammstein is not really my kind of music either. This song seemed interesting and another one "Ohne Dich" seems nice. I need to find the lyrics for that one.
I also heard that their lyrics have a lot of double meanings. I need to think about this other translation and see what changes I need to make. Thanks for pointing me to the other translation. I wouldn't have gotten the boxing angle but now that it is pointed out, it would explain some things.

Legt sich eis auf das gesicht*(Apply/Put) ice on the face*
Does this not mean to put ice on the face?
The other translation uses the word hot.

means word for word: ice is laying over your face


I thought that they means, when the feast punches your face its hurting, you know like thousand needles, as if you out a ice cold hand into hot water. But thats my very personal suggestion.

Thanks for your help. I have made some changes to the translation. I think maybe I will steer clear of Rammstein songs since the double meanings really complicate things and I get confused enough as it is.

Actually it's not "Legt sich eis auf das gesicht", it's "Legt sich heiß (heiß -> hot) auf das Gesicht".

Jeremy has translated all of their songs into English.

The song was originally commissioned as an anthem for a professional boxer, but he didn't want it in the end, so they included it on Mutter instead.
