Default Solved: rock song, "where were you"

male singer, sounds like it could be from the 80s or 90s, heard on rock station (classic rock, metal). I tried googling what I thought were the lyrics, but none of the songs that came up are the one I'm looking for, so I may have gotten them wrong.

    Chorus:

Where were you [sung by group], when I needed love [lead singer only]
Where were you " , when...[either repeated above, or variation]
    Where were yooooouuuuu

Broke my heart, when you said goodbye

    That's all I can recall.

Was it "Where were you" by JOURNEY

    Where were you
When I wanted you to love me through the night?
    Where were you
When I wanted you to love and hold me tight?
    Where were you, little darlin'
When you said to pick you up after school?
    I know where, little lady,
'cause my mama didn't raise no fool.
    Yeah.
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    I know where, baby,
you been runnin' 'round loose on the side.
    I know where, little lady,
you been runnin' 'round with something to hide.
I don't mind, darlin', if you're feelin' fancy and free.
    I don't mind, little baby,
cause your sister's lookin' real good to me.
    Hey,
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
I didn't know what the hell was goin' on,
    Someday you're gonna break.
So don't try to get yourself straight,
You're just a little too late.
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?
    Where were you?

totally forgot about this, haha. That's not it, but thanks.

It's probably a lost cause, since I'm not sure about the lyrics. I tried to approximate the notes on a piano. The vocal melody goes something like this:

where were you when I needed love. where were you when I needed love. where were you ---
    ....G.......G......F.............................. ........... G.......G.... F
    .............................B♭ B♭....C...D....D.................................B ♭..B♭....C...D....B♭........G.......G.....G

The "when I need love" part is sung twice as fast as "where were you".

The great song you are looking for is called "Where Were You" by Little America which was released in 1989. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZEFJ...7C6E097311F2DA

Little America's first rock hit was in 1987 with "Walk On Fire" which is another great song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZEFJ...7C6E097311F2DA This band should have been bigger.

That's it! Thank you for posting! There are so many songs with that title, I thought I'd never find it.
