Default Lyrics - Albanian to English (part 3)

Another 10 pages filled, so let's start a new thread with another Adelina Ismajli song. @Balkaneuro: thanks a lot for the previous one (mbretereshe e robereshe): I think I learned a few things from that one.

Adelina & Zanfina Ismajli - Dy motra njė frajer

    (Adelina)
    Une do tja marr
    syrin do tja vej
    frajerin e saj
    per vete do ta bej.

    Kot e ke te luftosh
    me ate fytyre te embel
    ne duart e mija
    mashkujt behen vetem vegel.
E ti e di se nuk e dua
    por duhesh ta harrosh
e di mire se do ta marr
    e ti vazhdo te dashurohesh.

    (Zanfina)
    Nuk mund te besoj
    qe ti me lendon
    pse frajerin tim
    gjithmon e shikon.
    Ai mua me don
    dhe e dashuroj
    askush sdo te mund
    qe te na shkaterroje.

    (refreni)
    Adelina: Meshkujt jan te njejte
    Zanfina: Nuk eshte e vertete
    Adelina: Meshkujt duan loje
Zanfina: Nuk jan te gjith njesoj
    Adelina: Ata shum shikojne
    Zanfina: Te gjith ne gabojme
    Adelina: Meshkujt te mashtrojne
    Zanfina: Por nje e dashurojne.

    (Adelina)
Dhe cdo fjale e jotja mua me ben
    qe me eger te luftoj
    une ate djale te mjere
do ta fus shume keq ne loje.
Dhe e di qe s'do do tndalem kurre
    kot per te non-stop mendon
    kthjellu pak oj qika mire
    ai ty ste meriton.

    (Zanfina)
    Ti mendon keshtu
    por gabim e ke
    meshkujt dijne te duan
    sikur edhe ne.
    Lumturia eshte nje
    djemt e meritojne.
    Ata kan zemer
    edhe na dojne.

Adelina & Zanfina Ismajli - Dy motra njė frajer / two sisters one bachelor/stud

    (Adelina)
Une do tja marr // i will take him from her
syrin do tja vej // i will put my eye on him
frajerin e saj // i will take her (frajer is a really lose slang term but more or less means guy)
per vete do ta bej. // i will take him for myself

Kot e ke te luftosh // you will fight aimlessly
me ate fytyre te embel // with that sweet face
ne duart e mija // in my hands
mashkujt behen vetem vegel. // males become tools
E ti e di se nuk e dua // and you know that i don't love him
por duhesh ta harrosh // but you need to forget him
e di mire se do ta marr // you know well that i will get him
e ti vazhdo te dashurohesh // and you continue to love him

    (Zanfina)
Nuk mund te besoj // i can't beleive
qe ti me lendon // that you are doing this to me
    pse frajerin tim
gjithmon e shikon // why are you always looking at my guy
Ai mua me don // he loves me
dhe e dashuroj // and i love him
askush sdo te mund // no one will be able
qe te na shkaterroje. // to destroy us

    (refreni)
Adelina: Meshkujt jan te njejte // males are all the same
Zanfina: Nuk eshte e vertete // it is not true
Adelina: Meshkujt duan loje // males want games
Zanfina: Nuk jan te gjith njesoj // they're not all the same
Adelina: Ata shum shikojne // they look at many
Zanfina: Te gjith ne gabojme // we all get fooled
Adelina: Meshkujt te mashtrojne // males deceit you
Zanfina: Por nje e dashurojne. // but they love one

    (Adelina)
Dhe cdo fjale e jotja mua me ben // and every word of yours makes me
qe me eger te luftoj // fight more wildly
    une ate djale te mjere
do ta fus shume keq ne loje. // i will put that poor boy in a deceiving game
Dhe e di qe s'do do tndalem kurre // and i no i won't ever stop
kot per te non-stop mendon // you think non-stop about him
kthjellu pak oj qika mire // come back (to reality) you('re) a nice girl
ai ty ste meriton. // he doesn't deserve you

    (Zanfina)
Ti mendon keshtu // you think like this
por gabim e ke // but you have it wrong
meshkujt dijne te duan // males know how to love

Lumturia eshte nje // happiness is one

    Lucky bastard!!! :-)

Tell her to come to Belgium. Or maybe I should go on holidays to Albania... How's the food over there?

I think Adelina is top notch! I'm not so wild about Zanfina though, but seeing them perform together is kind of interesting.

This is also in another dialect, so somethings i couldn't understand so well, or they may not make much sense in English. Hope you get the main idea, and please put the title and name of the song, so if people search for this translation they can find it.

Pi hapi syt qdo sabah, ku je shpirt a po msheh,// i open my eyes each morning, where are you my soul, do you see me
Tan naten po rri qut, me ta ni zemren tu rreh. // all night i sit silent, to hear your heart beat
E kom pa ni onderr prom, po po tutna me tregu, // i saw a dream yesterday, i will go on and tell it
Shum tmerr pasha ty, nuk po muj as me besu. // i saw you very gloomy, i couldn't even believe it
Sa her jemi rrokun na, per sene shum palidhje, // how many times have we grasped (fought), for unreasonable things
Po mdoket se dashnia, u kon per neve zgjidhje. //it seems to me that love, has been the thing to sort us out
Jon kon shum do sene, qe sja vlen me fol per to, // there has been many things, that are not worth talking about
Kur te pyta a me don, ti paprit ke thon po. // when i asked you if you love me, without waiting you said yes
Edhe une ty, deri nfund te dynjas, // i love you too, until the end of the world

Per bes te zotit, n'emer tina po t'betohna, // i vow to god, in the name tina i am making an oath
Deri nditen e kjametit, skan mu nda zemrat tona. // until doomsday, our hearts will not separate
Jeta osht nje rrug, qe ti duhesh me e njek, // life is a road, that you need to chase

    Refren:

The song is called "n'are me korre" and the singer is Gjyste Vulaj. Could someone write down the Albanian lyrics as well as translation for me?

In addition to that, what is the meaning of the song? I really, really like it and want to know what exactly she is talking about..

Is she the original singer of this song because I read it's on one of her albums but is she the songwriter of this song or has it been handed down? (i.e. just a re-make?)

    Default Two folksongs

Requests for translations seem to be exploding. Fortunately, these lyrics are only a few short verses. Who can tell me more about these songs? Are they old? Who else sings them besides Altin Sulku? (I have a very peculiar version of the first one by Adelina Ismajli). I tried to make sense of it on my own, but it seems hopeless.

Altin Sulku - Arome portokalli (smell of oranges?)

Te nje portokalle moj te dola une ty
... out of an orange, girl, I pulled you??
lulet e limonit moj te binin ne sy
... a yellow flower, girl, (??) in your eye??
te nje portokalle moj te dola une ty
lulet e limanit moj te binin ne sy

ule koken poshte moj se qme doxhi malli
binte er e gushes moj arome portokalli
ule koken poshte moj se qme doxhi malli,
binte ere e gushes moj arome portokalli

ishum ne te dyja moj o po si surkadhe...
permbi kokat tona moj lulet hedhnin ne valle...

And then I have this one, also very short:

Altin Sulku - Moj trėndelinė (Clover)

Ne nje arr, o moj ne nje lendine, trendeline moj trendeline,
... In a nut, o girl, in a meadow, my little clover(??)
Jane dy vajza aty o moj qe po rine, trendeline moj trendeline,
... Two girls were there, o ... (help!)

Njera qendiste o moj shamine, trendeline moj trendeline,
Tjetra fliste o per dashurine, trendeline moj trendeline,

Ti me je si nje sorkadhe, zemren sec ma more fare,
Zemren sec ma more fare o po une i mjeri,

Hey cortom, i love both these songs btw, they're so good, probably a couple of my favourites, they're really old folk song, and they're popular.

Altin Sulku - Arome portokalli (orange scent)

Te nje portokalle moj te dola une ty
at the orange (tree) i came out to see you
lulet e limonit moj te binin ne sy
the citrus plant leaves were covering your eyes (so she was like standing under the tree)

ule koken poshte moj se qme doxhi malli
put your head lower (so the leaves won't cover her so he can see her) 'cause my longing for you burns
binte er e gushes moj arome portokalli
the air smelt of crops, oh the scent of oranges

ishim ne te dyja moj o po si sorkadhe...
it was us two, oh you are like a deer(fragile animal supposed to mean a nice looking girl or something like that LOL)
permbi kokat tona moj lulet hedhnin ne valle...
above our heads girl the flowers were dancing together

And then I have this one, also very short:

These songs are so difficult to understand if you are learning Albanian. The best thing to remember with these songs is that they're much simpler than they may seem when you read them.

This song is from the Jug district in albania, so mostly the south so some vocabulary is different for example when it says "arr" although that means nut, it also means a field. As for the title, i think it means the girls were sitting in the field full of clovers.

Altin Sulku - Moj trėndelinė (Clover)

Ne nje arr, o moj ne nje lendine, trendeline moj trendeline,
in a field, oh in a yard, (full of) clovers oh clovers.
Jane dy vajza aty o moj qe po rine, trendeline moj trendeline,
there are two girls, oh that are sitting there, (between the) clovers oh the clovers

Njera qendiste o moj shamine, trendeline moj trendeline,
one of them was sewing her handkerchief, (between the) clovers, oh the clovers
Tjetra fliste o per dashurine, trendeline moj trendeline,
the other one, oh she was talking about love, (between the clovers, oh the clovers

Ti me je si nje sorkadhe, zemren sec ma more fare,
you are like a deer, you took my whole heart away
Zemren sec ma more fare o po une i mjeri,
oh how you took my heart away, oh poor me

you can see the song "nare me korre."
To download it, you have to click the arrow pointing down to the left of where it says "nare me korre." I tried it and it works on iTunes or whatever you use. (It sounds clearer if it will help you get it more)

By the way, what does "N'rrot Somes" mean? I've heard a couple Albanian songs, one with the actual saying of that phrase and one with just the abbreviation 'R.S." But what does it mean?

I don't know if I'm posting this in the rite thread but it does come from an Albanian song..

    Default Arabke moj

I found the lyrics on teksteshqip. They are so short I can't believe they are complete. I know four different versions of this song. So I guess it's a traditional? This one I like the best: Ermire Kola - Arabke moj It really seems as if the lyrics are slightly different.

Me thane se te pane ty,
    te pane duke lotuar /2x
me mir te qaje un per ty
se sa ti per mua /2x

    ref:
    O mos mu deshpero ti,
    o mos mu hidhero /2x
    Arapke moj sy zeske moj
    sa forte te dashuroj /2x

    II

    Me thane se vaditje ti
    nje kopshte me jargavane /2x
    Keputma nje e falma mu
    aman cme dogje xhane /2x
