help! 1980's song down by the riverside???

I am trying to find a song I barely remember. I think it was 'Down by the Riverside' or similar. I remember is being a dark type song. I may be crazy, and make this even more confusing, but i associate it somehow with vampires??? maybe about the same time as the movie lost boys. Maybe a female singer? Am I crazy? Do you know what I am looking for?

Or else it could be "The River" by Bruce Springsteen, which says "down to the river" in its refrain. HTH
