-> didn't know that something like this exists

-> I never get you out of my head

I (know), I love you
-> there's no "know" here, same for the other lines as well, it just emphasizes on the "I" and "You"

Siehst du nicht das ich hier Wein?
Do you not see that I tell the truth here?
-> weinen = cry; Don't you see that I cry here?

Re: (know) - I knew the word wasn't there. I followed an example I saw somewhere. I guess that wasn't a good idea.

Re: Wein - I should have looked further down the page. I stopped when I got to Wein defined as 1. wine 2. vines. there was an example there "reinen Wein einschenken" literal translation - to pour out pure wine. meaning - to tell someone the truth. That's where I got truth from. I didn't think it was correct but I didn't go far enough down the page to get to weinen. Thanks for setting me straight.

I have a question if you wouldn't mind. In another translation the word ('ne) was indicated to mean eine. Are there a lot words that get contracted with an apostrophe in German, and if not, just off the top of your head, could you list them for me? I get easily confused even with things I can look up and I haven't yet found anywhere to look these up.

Concerning slang, you'll find a lot of these abbreviations, (also 'n indicating "ein/en"). I have no idea how to list these. In the case of our "weinen/crying" here ... if the lyrics were written in the right way to put the sentence, it would be like this: "Siehst du nicht, dass ich hier weine?" (though I believe that the person actually sings "wein" to fit the rhythm!). Shortening words at their end is quite common in slang!

I have a pretty good list of some other contractions Macbard (not the apostrophe ones) such as the -s (ans = an das; ins = in das) -m (zum = zu dem; beim = bei dem). If you need them I could type them up and post here or PM.

I'd say it's "dem" In some cases it depends on the context.
